Description

Realism Tweaks

Minecraft 1.21.1 | NeoForge

Realism Tweaks is a lightweight, self-contained collection of small physics and survival tweaks that make the world behave a little more believably. Every feature is independent and fully configurable, so you can enable only the ones you want and tune the rest to taste.

Features

Heavy Objects

Anvils crush soft blocks (torches, flowers, grass and the like) directly beneath them when placed or while falling. Optionally, falling sand, gravel and concrete powder do the same - and can injure entities they land on, dealing damage that scales with the distance fallen.

Water Impact

Diving into water no longer makes you invincible. A long fall still hurts, but deeper water cushions the blow - shallow water barely helps, while a proper pool keeps you safe. When a belly flop turns fatal, you get a fittingly humorous death message.

Penetrating Projectiles

Fast-moving arrows (and optionally thrown tridents) shatter glass and keep flying instead of stopping dead, losing only some of their speed on the way through. Slow arrows still bounce off harmlessly.

Thin Ice

Walking on thin ice over water can crack it and drop you in. By default only sprinting or armoured players are heavy enough to break through, so casual walking - and sneaking - stays safe. Frosted ice from Frost Walker boots counts too.

Food Poisoning

Eating raw, spoiled or toxic food can make you sick. Mildly risky foods carry a chance of poisoning; severely risky ones (rotten flesh, pufferfish, spider eye, poisonous potato) are far more likely to get you - optionally with a bout of nausea. Risky foods are flagged with a warning on their tooltip.

Bleeding

Sharp attacks - bladed weapons, arrows, and clawed mobs like spiders, wolves and ravagers - can open a bleeding wound that deals damage over time. Craft a Bandage (2 paper + 1 string) to stop the bleeding early before it drains you.

Underwater Pressure (off by default)

For a tougher diving experience, deep water can drain your air faster the deeper you go.

Optional Integrations

  • Cloth Config - adds the in-game configuration screen.
  • AppleSkin - shows the food-quality indicator next to AppleSkin's tooltip food bars.

The mod runs fully without either; they only enhance the experience.

Configuration

Every feature can be toggled on or off, and the numbers behind them are adjustable: water cushioning depth and damage scale, projectile speed thresholds, ice break chance, poisoning chances and duration, bleed chance and damage, gravity-block damage, and more.

Installation

Drop the JAR into your mods folder. Requires:

  • NeoForge 21+ for Minecraft 1.21.1

Optional: Cloth Config, AppleSkin
