Redstone Circuit
No reviews yet
Put redstone components inside blocks - dust, repeaters, comparators, torches, levers and buttons - and the block still emits their signal. Wear the redstone goggles to see the wiring inside, and use the wrench to lock a route.

Description
Redstone Circuit
Redstone usually has to lie on the ground, where it takes up space and looks like a mess. Redstone Circuit lets you store redstone components inside a block - stone, planks, any full opaque cube - and that block still emits its signal to the world exactly as the component would.
Put on the Redstone Goggles and you can see what is inside every block: the shape of the circuit, which way a repeater faces, its delay setting, a comparator's mode, and every connection it has.
What it adds
- Components inside blocks - dust, repeaters, comparators, torches, levers and buttons can all be placed inside a block with shift + right-click, and taken back out with an empty hand.
- No changes to vanilla redstone - emission directions, weak and strong power, delays and signal loss all follow the vanilla rules exactly. The block does not become a redstone block: it emits precisely what the component inside it emits, and where.
- Vertical faces too - a component can be mounted on a block's top or bottom face, and it connects just as it would on the ground.
- Redstone Goggles (glass - redstone - glass) - worn on the head, with no armour value. Blocks containing redstone turn translucent with a red border, and the component inside is drawn for you: including which sides are connected, which were locked and which were cut. Take them off and the world goes back to normal.
- Redstone Wrench (three redstone in a column) - right-click a component to pick it, then shift-right-click a neighbour to lock that line: every other side of both blocks is cut, so redstone placed beside them later cannot change the route. Repeat the same gesture to step through locked / cut / automatic; lock as many lines as you like. The neighbour does not need redstone of its own, so a piston, a lamp or a plain block can be what a line is routed to.
- Superconducting Redstone Dust (a copper ingot ringed with eight redstone, nine at a time) - behaves exactly like redstone dust except that it loses nothing over distance: lay it on the ground like redstone, or put it inside a block, and fifteen arrives at the far end however long the run is. Entering it from ordinary dust costs nothing; leaving it into ordinary dust still costs that dust its one hop.
- Settings by hand - an empty-hand right-click steps a repeater's delay and swaps a comparator between compare and subtract mode, just like right-clicking them on the ground. The current setting is shown above the hotbar.
How to use
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Hold a component, shift + right-click a block | Store it inside the block (the face you clicked becomes its input side) |
| Shift + right-click with an empty hand | Take the component back out |
| Right-click with an empty hand | Work a lever or button, step a repeater's delay, swap a comparator's mode |
| Right-click with the superconducting dust | Lay the wire on the ground, like redstone |
| Wrench: right-click a component | Pick it |
| Wrench: shift + right-click a neighbour | Lock that line (and cut the rest) |
| Wrench: shift + right-click the picked block | Clear every override on it |
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.250 or newer on the same 1.21.1 line
- Required on both client and server; no other mods needed
Notes
- Vanilla blocks and vanilla world data are never modified: everything is stored in the world save's own data, so removing the mod leaves the world intact (the components are simply dropped).
- Configuration (
config/redstonecircuit-common.toml) controls the appearance, whether the goggles are required for the wrench, and how far component data is synced.
