Description

Reflex Trial

Reflex Trial is a multiplayer reflex challenge Minecraft mod where players receive quick micro-challenges and must complete them before time runs out. The goal is fast-paced, competitive gameplay—whether you're racing against friends or surviving sudden death elimination.

Players receive random challenges like "Jump!", "Do a 360° spin", or "Break a block" and must complete them within seconds. Challenges scale in difficulty from Easy to Extreme, with scoring systems that reward speed, streaks, and teamwork.

Key Features

  • 100+ unique challenges across 4 difficulty tiers.
  • 6 multiplayer game modes for competitive and cooperative play.
  • Scoring system with streaks, speed bonuses, and leaderboards.
  • Team support with shared scores and contributions.
  • Server-side logic that works seamlessly in multiplayer.

How It Works

Challenge System

Every 45 seconds, players receive a random challenge displayed on screen. Challenges must be completed within a time limit based on difficulty:

  • Easy — 8 seconds
  • Medium — 5 seconds
  • Hard — 3 seconds
  • Extreme — 2 seconds

Completion Detection

The mod tracks player actions in real-time:

  • Movement, jumping, sneaking, sprinting
  • Looking direction and rotation
  • Block placement and breaking
  • Entity interactions and combat
  • Inventory and hotbar changes

Game Modes

Use /reflex mode <mode> to switch modes (requires OP level 2).

  • Solo — Individual challenges for each player.
  • Race — All players get the same challenge; first to complete wins bonus points.
  • Team — Players work together on shared team scores.
  • Versus — Completing challenges sabotages opponents with negative effects.
  • Chain — Players take turns; keep the chain going as long as possible.
  • Sudden Death — One failure and you're eliminated!

Scoring System

  • Base completion: 10 points
  • Streak bonus: +5 per consecutive completion
  • Speed bonus: +10 for completing in under 2 seconds
  • Race winner: +25 (2nd: +15, 3rd: +10)
  • Team contribution: +5 bonus
  • Chain bonus: +20 (increases with chain length)
  • Versus sabotage: +15 points

Multiplayer

The core logic runs server-side, so it works on dedicated servers. All players on the server can participate, and the mod handles:

  • Synchronized race challenges
  • Team score tracking
  • Chain mode turn order
  • Elimination tracking in Sudden Death
  • Global leaderboards

Installation

  1. Install Fabric and Fabric API for Minecraft 1.20.1.
  2. Place the mod JAR into your mods folder.
  3. Launch Minecraft.
