Description
Compatibility Patch: Furniture Mod on Moving Structures
This is a compatibility patch. It adds no new items and does not change any existing visuals.
It fixes an issue that occurs in modpacks where MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished and Create: Aeronautics (which depends on the Sable Physics system) are both installed. When furniture from the furniture mod is placed on moving physical structures, such as ships or vehicles, the power network stops working: generators do not supply power, powered devices do not function, and power nodes on furniture cannot be selected even when holding a wrench.
This patch makes those powered furniture blocks work normally on moving structures, just like they do on regular ground. It also fixes the issue where players are ejected when sitting on seating furniture placed on moving structures.
Dependencies: You must have both MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished and Create: Aeronautics (along with its required dependencies) installed. The patch will not take effect if either mod is missing.
Items / Blocks
This mod does not add its own items or blocks. It restores the following existing furniture and tools on moving structures:
| Name | Source | Behavior on Moving Structures |
|---|---|---|
| Power Node (built into furniture) | MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished | Power interface for generators, powered devices, lighting, and storage furniture; can be recognized and connected on moving structures |
| Generator furniture | MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished | Supplies power to devices and consumes fuel on moving structures |
| Powered devices, lighting, and storage furniture | MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished | Receive power and work normally on moving structures |
| Wrench | MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished | Can select, connect, and view wires on power nodes placed on moving structures |
| Seating furniture (toilets, sofas, chairs, etc.) | MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished | Can be sat on normally when placed on moving structures, without ejecting the player |
Crafting Recipes
This mod adds no new crafting recipes.
All items and blocks use the original recipes from MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished. No new materials or crafting stations are added. If you already know how to craft the original powered furniture, craft them the same way.
How to Use
Building a power network on moving structures
Place generators and powered devices from the furniture mod, such as lights, appliances, and storage furniture, on your physical structure, such as a ship or vehicle from Create: Aeronautics.
Hold a wrench and aim at the power node on the furniture. The node will light up and show its connections. Connect generators and devices as usual. Once the generator is running, the connected devices will receive power and work normally.
When the structure moves or rotates, the entire power network moves with it, and connections will not break.
Viewing nodes and wires while holding a wrench
When you hold a wrench near furniture on a moving structure, the power node boxes and wires will align with the furniture model.
Node highlights and wire colors match the behavior on normal blocks. Different colors are used to indicate powered states or cross-area connections. Selected nodes are highlighted to help confirm the connection target.
Sitting on seating furniture on moving structures
Toilets, sofas, chairs, and similar seating furniture can be placed on moving structures and used normally. You will move with the structure and will not be ejected when sitting down.
Update speed
Generators and powered devices on moving structures run at the same speed as they do on normal ground. Their behavior will not become faster or slower because the structure is moving.
Interaction range
The wrench interaction range is the same as in the original furniture mod, about 4.5–5 blocks. It has not been increased or decreased.
Notes
- Bathtubs cannot be sat on. This is intended behavior in the furniture mod, as bathtubs only handle water interactions. This patch does not change that.
- Cross-structure connections. If a generator is placed on normal ground and a device is placed on a moving structure, or vice versa, the wire display may not be perfectly accurate. The connection itself should still work. It is recommended to keep all power devices on the same structure.
- Chunk loading. Furniture on moving structures only participates in the power network while the structure is loaded. Devices will not work when the structure is outside the loaded area. This is normal.
- Tick timing. The patch automatically adjusts timing to prevent devices on moving structures from running faster than those on normal blocks. No additional configuration is required.
- Reporting issues. If you encounter misaligned nodes, failed connections, or other unexpected behavior, please report them to the modpack author and include details about your structure type and furniture combination.
