Relict

An archaeology mod for CurseForge's 2026 themed modjam. Relict adds Mars as a new dimension, whose terrain spells out its history. The dig site is the planet itself. There's more than what meets the surface.

The portal to Mars can only be found in Dripstone and Sulfur Caves, as the technique for building one is lost knowledge.

Vital Vizard, the life support helmet, allows the player to breathe the Overworld's sky while traveling on Mars.

Sights to see on Mars:

• Mars' two moons, Phobos and Deimos, orbiting in the sky at different speeds than the sun.
• Twilights on Mars are blue, making colors of sunrises and sunsets almost the opposite of the Overworld.
• Mars has so many craters that some of them overlap.
• How high you can jump with Mars' lower gravity.
• Once in a while, Phobos will transit the Sun. Don't let the Solar Eclipse darkening the ground and sky spook you.

• Wrinkle Plains
• Rusted Dunes
• Fretted Mesas
• Basalt Caves
• Calcite Caves
• Ice Caves
• Sulfur Caves

Mars structures:

• The technique to creating a Mars Portal is forgotten knowledge. Find one in Overworld's Dripstone or Sulfur Caves to enter Mars. Don't forget to wear the life-support helmet!
• Ruined landers and rovers are Unmanned Wrecks found across Mars' surface. Inside are clues for discoveries underground.
• Overcast Mooring, the severed anchor of a bygone space elevator constructed by ancient visitors. Secrets rest within.
