About
Description
Designed to compliment Enchantment Research Table mod!
Over 50 new, reasonably balanced enchantments!
Overview
This mod adds 56 enchantments that range from improving quality of life to increasing your survivability, damage etc. Many of these enchantments can be obtained by luck, some can be rolled on enchanting tables (if you're not using the Enchantment Research Table mod) and some can only be obtained from specific biome structures and locations, like Taiga villages, or mineshafts, or End Cities.
Example QoL mods:
- Aromatic: Makes animals follow you more eagerly
- Hiker: Lets you step up full blocks without jumping
- Kiln Touch: Bakes sand and clay as you dig them
- Mattock: Lets your pickaxe also act as a shovel
Example combat mods:
- Critical Strike: Makes your critical hits deal more damage
- Frost Aspect: Hits slow and chill your target
- Reload: Sometimes preserves arrows when fired
- Juggernaut: Prevents you from being knocked back
Benefits and balancing
The enchantments have been chosen to try to enrich gameplay and add meaningful choices. There is a small power creep, but not really more than Vanilla+ level. For example, shields can now be slightly more useful in combat, axes can be more deadly against single targets in particular, chestplates might be very worth wearing at certain points or in certain gameplay situations now...
Compatibility
Should be compatible with most things. I chose not to include a veinminer / lumberjack enchantment, as these have been done very well by other modders before - recommend using it with this one if wanted.
Some enchantments may cover QoL mods that you may normally use. Spoilers ahead, but if you want to check whether or not you shouldn't be solving these issues with mods:
- Reap allows 3x3 crop harvesting
- Sow allows seeds to be replanted after harvesting
- Safekeep allows equipment to be kept after death
- Potion master makes potions last longer
- Illumination provides night vision
- Extend lets tools interact with blocks further away (up to 2.5 blocks added distance)
- Water Strider let's horses 'Frost Walk' on water
