Description
This mod is meant to be played with the "Golden Days" resource pack. You can find it here: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/golden-days
Retro Remnants is a small content mod that adds in removed/scrapped features from old Minecraft with small reimaginied twists to seamlessly blend it in with modern versions of the game. This mod is best enjoyed with modpacks that simulate the old minecraft feel.
Notable features of this mod consist of:
- Starting house at spawn with empty chests to simulate the old structure back in Indev (generation can be turned off in gamerules before world creation).
- Large brick pyramids rarely spawn on world surface, along with 7 new secret structures to bring back nostalgia, or make you feel less alone in the world.
- The addition of ruby ore, which can be used to upgrade gold equipment via smithing table. Ruby gear is set between iron and diamond in terms of progression, with the benefits of gold's enchantability and tool speed making it a viable early alternative to netherite.
- Nether reactor cores make a comeback with the same crafting recipe and construction as before, with the added benefit of a new type of zombified piglin, and the uncommon drop of ruby smithing upgrades.
- Dog music disc, and a new secret painting.
Common Questions:
Does this mod need to be on both client and server?
Yes, it needs to be on both.
Will there be a port to an older/newer version and modloader?
Older versions of minecraft will likely never see a release, as well as other modlaoders outside NeoForge. I will possibly update this mod over time to newer versions of the game though if it becomes popular enough.
Do you plan to add more to the mod?
Eventually, yes. I would like to add more old features over-time, and maybe add my own custom content to fit the theme, but for now, im pretty content with what I have added here. A resource pack to change textures to fit vanilla art style is also a planned feature down the road.
