A simple trickshot combat mod for Forge 1.20.1. Toss tiered coins, redirect shots into fast chains, and cash out with a big overdrive finisher. Inspired by ULTRAKILL coin tech, tuned for regular modpacks.

About

Description

Simple coin mod inspired by the ULTRAKILL coin. Right click or press R to throw the coin (can be changed in the keybinds). The coins work with all projectiles (arrows, eggs, snowballs, etc..)

Dependencies

  • Required: Forge 1.20.1
  • Optional client-side compatibility: JEI 15+ (search integration-friendly tags/recipes provided)

Included Compatibility

  • Coin items are in creative tabs for discovery/search.
  • Coin items are tagged in both:
    • forge:coins
    • c:coins
  • Placeholder recipes are included and intended for datapack/modpack overrides.

Config Highlights (Pack-Friendly)

  • beam.enableOverdriveLaser:
    • true = 5th coin chain triggers charge + overdrive beam.
    • false = 5th chain stays on red fallback projectile logic (no big laser).
  • beam.chainEntityMaxRange:
    • Hard cap on entity seek distance for chain targeting.
    • Lower this to reduce long-range chain behavior/perf cost in large fights.
  • beam.chainDamageMultiplier and beam.chainSpeedMultiplier:
    • Scale per-chain-hit damage and speed growth.
    • Main knobs for balancing progression from coin to coin.
  • coin.targetingRadius:
    • Base seek radius before internal scaling/caps.
    • Use with chainEntityMaxRange to keep chain selection predictable.
  • beam.beamMaxLifetimeTicks:
    • Cleanup timer for beam entities.
    • Increase if your pack has slower combat pacing; lower for tighter cleanup.

Compatibility Notes

  • Works server-side without JEI. JEI is optional and client-side only.
  • JEI/recipe-search friendliness is provided through forge:coins and c:coins item tags.
  • Recipes are placeholders by design and can be overridden cleanly via datapacks/KubeJS/CraftTweaker.
  • Targets Forge 47+ on Minecraft 1.20.1.
