Description

Road to Laugh Tale

Mine Mine no Mi already has a Road Poneglyph block in it. Right-click it and nothing happens — it just sits there, red and silent, with no worldgen and no code behind it. That bothered me enough to build this.

So: the stones are real now. There are twelve of them scattered across your world, they say something, and following them all the way through takes you somewhere nobody else on your server can go.

What you actually do

You start by finding a blue Poneglyph — a stone monolith four or five blocks tall, standing somewhere it shouldn't be. You can read it. You won't understand much.

Bring Tracing Paper and you can take a rubbing and carry the text with you. There are eight of these stones, and between them they tell you what happened during the hundred years the World Government erased: the kingdom that lost, the twenty kings who won, the three ancient weapons, and a man called Joy Boy who promised to come back and didn't.

Read three of them and something clicks. The red stones stop being scribbles.

There are four red ones. Each stands on its own island, out in open ocean, more than a thousand blocks from where you spawned — Zou under its jungle canopy, Whole Cake buried in icing and cake mushrooms, Wano under snow and cherry blossom, Elbaph among logs cut for giants. Each has a guardian who would rather you left. You'll get an Eternal Pose when you learn the script; it leans toward the nearest one you haven't copied yet, and tells you a bearing and a rough distance. Not coordinates. You still have to sail.

Four rubbings, a compass and some gold make the Red Log Pose. That's the road.

Laugh Tale

It's a real dimension, and it gives one island per crew. Only the player who opened the road and their Mine Mine no Mi crewmates can set foot on it — everyone else gets turned back at the door.

Beach, pier, jungle, six treasure chambers, and a plaza where all eight history stones finally stand together in one place. At the summit there's a tomb, and inside the tomb there's the Rio Poneglyph.

Read it and you'll wake something up.

The fight

Gol D. Roger. 600 HP, three phases, a proper boss bar. Every phase change opens with a shockwave, he answers ranged attacks with a straight-line strike of his own, and there's a cap on how much damage a single hit can do to him — so no one fruit ends this in two clicks.

He doesn't fight alone. Silvers Rayleigh shows up in phase two. Scopper Gaban and two of the crew in phase three. When the King falls, they go with him.

Beat him, read the stone one more time, and the One Piece is yours. The whole server finds out.

Also in there

  • Nine quests wired into Mine Mine no Mi's own quest system, paying berries, bounty and doriki. They hand themselves out and close themselves — no NPC to hunt down. If your journal is full, the extras wait in line.
  • Eleven advancements, from your first rubbing to the crown.
  • Voice acting. Every stone you read, the moment you make landfall on Laugh Tale, every phase of the fight. English out of the box.
  • A Historian's Journal that keeps track of everything you've copied, with the full text on hover.
  • Custom GeckoLib models and animations for Roger, the guardians and the crew.

For server owners

There's an admin command (/roadtolaughtale, or /rtl) to inspect and edit progress, grant stones, open the road, place a shrine, or reset someone.

The config lets you point any entity ID at an island guardian or at the final boss slot. If you run Mine Piece, you can drop minepiece:kaidou on Wano and minepiece:gol_d_roger in the tomb and it just works. Nothing is required — if the mod isn't there, the addon uses its own. And if you run ompworld, the red stones get placed on its real One Piece islands instead of generating new ones.

Worldgen can be switched off entirely if you'd rather place things by hand.

Requirements

Required — the mod will not load without these:

CurseForge will offer to download both dependencies for you.

Optional — detected automatically if present:

  • ompworld (One Mine Piece World) 1.3+ — the four red stones move onto its real islands
  • Mine Piece / Mine Piece X Mine Mine no Mi — use their bosses as guardians or as the final fight

No other mod is needed, and nothing is bundled from anyone else's work.

Languages

English by default, text and voice. A French pack ships inside the mod — both the writing and the recorded lines. Turn it on in Options → Resource Packs.

This is a beta

It's complete and playable start to finish, but two things haven't had enough eyes on them:

  • The ompworld integration is written and verified against the real mod, but no full playthrough has run with it actually installed.
  • Balance hasn't been tested against a fully kitted Mine Mine no Mi character. If Roger folds in ten seconds, or if a guardian wipes you at the door, tell me.

Bug reports and blunt feedback are both welcome.
