Description
Root & Ripe
Root & Ripe makes farming and food storage feel more meaningful by adding freshness, spoilage, seasons, preservation, and composting systems to crops and natural foods.
Inspired by cozy farming games like Stardew Valley, the mod is designed to make farming feel more intentional without making survival overly complicated.
Instead of food lasting forever, fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains, mushrooms, nuts, and other natural ingredients now age over time. Each food shows its freshness directly in the tooltip, letting you know when it was harvested and how long it has before spoiling.
To help preserve your harvest, Root & Ripe adds the Food Crate, a special storage block that slows down food decay and helps preserved foods become ready faster.
The mod also includes a season system. Crops, seeds, saplings, and some harvests can be restricted by season, giving farming a stronger sense of timing and planning. For players who want more flexibility, Fertilizer can be used to create Sheltered Farmland, allowing crops to grow outside their normal seasons.
Spoiled foods and Unripe Fruit can be processed in the Compost Bin to create Fertilizer, giving unwanted harvests a useful purpose instead of making them completely worthless.
Root & Ripe is currently in development, and more features are planned for future updates.
