Description
RpgSkillable
RpgSkillable is a modification of the rereskillable mod that was abandoned. Thanks to the license and permission statement of the author, this mod was possible.
Major differences in RpgSkillable include:
- Renaming and reduction of skills
- Additional configuration
- new textures
- new positive and negative effects
- Additional integration with mods
This mod was developed with additional mods in mind, therefore to get the most out of it please consider playing with Elenai Dodge 2 and Ars Nouveau!
Skills:
The skills each player can level up are: vigor, strength, endurance, dexterity, mind, and intelligence.

Levels:
The max level per skill can be configured as well as the total max level. Having a total max level is useful for preventing a player from maxing out every skill, enabling players to specialize.
This was done to enable more decision making when it comes to combat and equipment. A player who isn't wearing full netherite armor could be just as effective in combat.
By default, every 6 levels in a skill awards a passive effect, boosting the players stats depending on what skill it originated from. This is to encourage players to build into a skill to achieve a bigger boost.
The player may reset their levels by using a Larval Tear, an item sometimes found in dungeons.
Restrictions:
As in the original mod, blocks, items, and entities can be restricted by skill levels. Additionally, RpgSkillable adds restrictions for item attributes and enchantments. This way, armor and weapons will automatically have restrictions set depending on their attribute values. A player who specs into mind and intelligence will be able to fully utilize enchantments and magic whereas a player who focuses on endurance and vigor will be more durable.
A new type of penalty has also been added, negative effects. Rather than preventing the player from hitting mobs with a sword they cannot wield, a negative effect is applied to hinder their movement and damage. For armor the player is encumbered and cannot move fast or jump. For tools and weapons, the player is atrophied and does less damage and attacks slower. These negative effects are also optional and the original penalty can be used instead.
Mod Integrations:
RpgSkillable plays best with Elenai Dodge 2 and Ars Nouveau. This is done by utilizing the feathers api as well as Ars Nouveau's attributes. Without Ars installed, mind and intelligence will only server as restrictions. There is also effect descriptions for JEED.
Configuration:
RpgSkillable contains a config file that allows users to modify many aspects of the mod. The effect level given per skill level, leveling costs, restrictions, and more can be changed.
Skill locks can be set and tweaked by editing the relevant list in the config. enchantSkillLocks list sets the skill locks enchantments apply to items, attributeSkillLocks sets the skill locks applied to items based on their attributes, and overrideSkillLocks sets the skill locks for specific items, overriding attribute skill locks.
