Ten fantasy metals for Minecraft 26.2+ — bonus ore drops, full toolsets and armor, additive to vanilla. Datapack + optional Paper plugin.
Data Packs were introduced to vanilla Minecraft in version 1.13 and allow the server to modify data about the game, or run commands. Data Packs are compatible with all mod loaders.
Forge is a popular mod loader for versions 1.1+ of Minecraft.
Neoforge is a fork of the Minecraft Forge available for versions 1.20.1+ of Minecraft. Many Forge mods are compatible with Neoforge and vice versa.
Fabric is a mod loader for versions 1.14+ of Minecraft, particularly popular for client side and optimization mods.
Paper is a fork of Spigot that adds its own plugin API on top of the Bukkit API. All Spigot plugins are compatible with paper, not all paper plugins are compatible with Spigot.
Spigot is a popular software for running dedicated servers that can load Plugins created with the Bukkit API.
Quilt is a fork of the Fabric mod loader. Many Fabric mods are compatible with Quilt and vice versa.

⚠️ THE MOD VARIANT IS A WRAPPED DATAPACK, YOU STILL MUST DOWNLOAD AND ENABLE THE RESOURCEPACK THAT EVERY RELEASE HAS IN ITS SUPPLEMENTARY FILES SECTION
alloys adds ten fantasy metals to Minecraft 26.2 — from Tin to Astral — with full toolsets, armor, bows, material stats, lore, and passive traits. It is fully additive: vanilla recipes and ore drops are preserved.
Ships as a datapack (required for gameplay) and a companion resource pack (required — distinct textures for every ingot, fragment, tool, and armor piece). An optional Paper plugin adds a recipe chest GUI, written guidebook, and /alloys commands.
Forge deeper. Vanish never.

Features
in testing, tools+armor should all be good to go, crossbows and bows are being heavily tested
- 10 alloys — Tin, Bronze, Silver, Steel, Cobalt, Nickel, Platinum, Mythril, Adamantine, Astral
- Additive only — no vanilla recipe overrides; alloy gear uses
#alloys:ingots/<alloy>tags - 4 mined fragment drops — bonus rolls while breaking vanilla ores (vanilla loot always drops first)
- Full gear per metal — pickaxe, shovel, axe, sword, hoe, bow, crossbow, helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots
- Passive traits — attribute bonuses, intrinsic enchants, and tick-based effects while held or worn
- Recipe book integration — advancement tabs and unlock backfill on join
- Written guidebook — delivered once per player (datapack or
/alloys guidebookon Paper) - Companion resource pack — separate zip with unique textures for all ten alloys (ingots, fragments, and full gear); does not override vanilla
minecraft:*item art — routes viaitem_modeltoalloys:*assets - Rituals integration — alloy tools support Rituals Soul Embodiment when both packs are installed
The ten alloys
| Tier | Alloy | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tin | Craft |
| 2 | Bronze | Craft |
| 3 | Silver | Craft |
| 4 | Steel | Craft |
| 5 | Cobalt | Craft OR Ore bonus drop |
| 6 | Nickel | Craft OR Ore bonus drop |
| 7 | Platinum | Craft |
| 8 | Mythril | Craft OR Ore bonus drop |
| 9 | Adamantine | Craft OR Ore bonus drop |
| 10 | Astral | Craft (endgame) |
Ore bonus drops (extra roll only — pool 1 is unchanged vanilla):
| Fragment | Chance | Host ores |
|---|---|---|
| Cobalt Fragment | 0.125% | Coal, copper, lapis (incl. deepslate) |
| Nickel Fragment | 0.156% | Iron (incl. deepslate) |
| Mythril Fragment | 0.0625% | Redstone, emerald (incl. deepslate) |
| Adamantine Fragment | 0.031% | Diamond (incl. deepslate), ancient debris |
Fragments are non-smeltable glowing collectibles. Nine matching fragments craft one ingot (#alloys:fragments/<alloy>). Each ore alloy also has a vanilla-material ingot recipe on its guide pages.
Installation
Datapack
- Download
alloys-datapack-1.0.36.zip - Copy into your world's
datapacks/folder and rename toAlloys.zip - Restart the world — not just
/reload(functions must register)
Resource pack (required)
- Download
alloys-resourcepack-1.0.36.zip - Client: Options → Resource Packs → enable the zip (place above other packs that retexture tools or armor)
- Server: copy into
resourcepacks/and setresource-pack=inserver.properties(optionalrequire-resource-pack=true).
My personal favorite utilities for server resourcepack management: https://minepack.fr/ & https://www.craftmc.net/tools/resource-pack-merger
Gameplay works without the resource pack however, you will be missing textures.
Paper plugin (optional)
The plugin provides a chest GUI for in-game guidance and administration.
- Place
alloys-plugin-1.0.36.jarinplugins/ - Restart the server — clients should still enable the resource pack for alloy textures
- Verify the update, plugin behavior can vary from server-to-server. If anything is amiss, shut down the server and replace the datapack zip in the corresponding world datapack folder with the new one.
Requirements: Minecraft 26.2 · datapack format 107.1 · resource pack format 88.0 · Java 25 (Paper plugin)
Commands
Datapack:
/function alloys:help— clickable help menu/function alloys:give/<alloy>— operator test kit (materials, ingot, full tools & armor)/function alloys:give/guidebook— written guidebook
Paper plugin:
/alloys help— recipe browser (chest GUI)/alloys recipes— chat recipe viewer/alloys guidebook— written guidebook/alloys give <alloy>— operator kits/alloys reload— reload plugin config
Permissions: alloys.use (default: all players) · alloys.admin / alloys.give (default: op)
Rituals pairing
If Rituals is also installed, alloy tools can undergo Soul Embodiment awakening. Integration tags ship inside every Alloys zip — no extra download.
Design philosophy
Alloys adds content under alloys:* — it does not disable, replace, or suppress vanilla minecraft:* crafts. Ore changes append a second bonus loot pool; they never remove normal drops.
