a block that reverses vanilla crafting. Place a crafted item in its input slot, and if the stack count exactly matches a known recipe's output, the table breaks it back down into the original ingredients.
Focuses on automation and resource processing through scientific and mechanical means, utilizing systems like electricity (RF/FE/etc), air pressure, or rotation.
Includes quality of life improvements and small tweaks to enhance and customize gameplay.

Salvager's Table
A Fabric mod for Minecraft 26.2 that adds the Salvage Table, a block that reverses vanilla crafting. Place a crafted item in its input slot, and if the stack count exactly matches a known recipe's output, the table breaks it back down into the original ingredients.
How it works
- Input: a single slot. Drop in a crafted item.
- Output: a 3x3 grid mirroring the crafting table layout.
- If the item and stack count exactly match a recipe's output, the grid instantly fills with the original ingredients - in their original crafting positions for shaped recipes (e.g. salvaging a chest shows the ring pattern with an empty center), or left-to-right for shapeless recipes.
- No match (wrong count, no such recipe, or an unreversible recipe - see below) leaves the grid empty.
- Consuming: the grid is just a preview until you take something from it. The moment you withdraw the first item, the whole input stack is consumed; the rest of the grid stays put for you to keep taking. Close the table before taking anything and your original item is returned untouched.
Only plain crafting-table recipes (shaped and shapeless) can be reversed. Recipes with byproducts (e.g. ones that return a bucket) and recipe outputs made by more than one distinct recipe are never reversible, since there'd be no single correct inverse. This is computed automatically from the live recipe manager, so recipes added by other mods or datapacks are supported without any extra code.
Obtaining one: craft a Salvage Table from 1 crafting table + 4 iron ingots.
please dont hestitate to comment if you find objects that you are not able to salvage. i will add them accordingly.
