About

Description

Satisforestry recreates the beautiful and memorable Pink Forest (usually called "Red Bamboo Fields" in context) at the center of the Satisfactory map. Unlike in that game, where the entire map was hand crafted, here it is a proper procedurally generated biome, with seed-based randomization and expandability.

I went to great lengths to reproduce as many of the defining characteristics of the biome as I could, from the foliage - large and small - to the terrain shaping to the kinds of creatures you find in the biome. Just like the Satisfactory version, the Pink Birch Forest is split into three subzones; the main one, by far the most common, is the standard pink forest, with wide paths and a mix of all foliage. Within that you will find regions of a more swampy area, with terraced ponds, reproducing the similar area on the eastern edge of the SF biome. Finally, you will also find dense stands of red bamboo with comparatively few trees, which replicate the area at the northwest of the SF biome.

Poison "holey" rocks and paleberries can also be found scattered around the biome.

Finally, the forest contains buried treasures, based on the long winding cave that runs underneath the biome in Satisfactory, with some inspirations from other areas of the map (notably the eastern swamp).

This treasure includes a "resource node", which, like the SF version, can be used to generate a limitless in amount but throughput-limited supply of any item you choose - what nodes can produce is completely configurable using my LuaBlock system, much like in CondensedOres and LootTweaks. Ore clusters are read from a "ores" file, and the resource node types from a "resources" file, both in the subfolder created in your config folder. Ores are optional - it is possible to have no ore types specified for a given spawn area - but there must be at least one resource type definition. Refer to "base" for both the default parent of the definitions and examples.

Future plans include adding a creature like the flying manta to circle the biome, and adding the other primary use for paleberries. :P

Note that several of the biome features are dependent upon finding a biome edge, and as such you will not see all of them in a single-biome world like a MystCraft age with pages for just this biome.
