Description
SCG Tools
One tool, the whole game. SCG Tools replaces the "craft, break, craft again" loop with tools that grow alongside you. Craft a flint pickaxe on day one and keep that same pickaxe all the way to the End — leveling it, upgrading its tier and installing upgrades as you go.
Built for vanilla+ and lightweight modpacks.
⚠️ Beta. This is the first public build, released for playtesting. Expect rough edges and please report any bugs you find.
How it works
Levels
Tools gain XP as you use them — mining blocks, or defeating enemies with the sword and axe. Each level increases durability and unlocks more upgrade slots, up to level 10.
Tiers
Every tool goes through five tiers: Flint → Iron → Diamond → Netherite → Draconic. Tier and level are independent: tier comes from materials, level comes from use. Tier-ups keep everything your tool has earned.
The Forge
A new crafting station where tier-ups and upgrades happen. Recipes cost materials and experience levels.
Tools that never break
When a tool runs out of durability it doesn't break — it just stops working as a tool until repaired. Repair it in any crafting grid with its tier's material: each unit restores a third of its durability.
Netherite and Draconic tools survive fire, lava and explosions when dropped. Draconic tools are unbreakable.
Upgrades
General
- Mending — repairs the tool with experience. Mending can only be obtained as an upgrade.
- Enchantment I / II — every enchantment on the tool counts as +1 level (+2 with both). Unlocked at Netherite and Draconic.
Mining tools
- Hammer — mines in a 3×3 area, 5×5 from Netherite. Also works for stripping logs, making paths and tilling soil in an area.
Tool-specific
- Vein Mine (pickaxe) — mines a whole ore vein at once.
- Chainsaw (axe) — fells an entire tree.
- Fertilizer (hoe) — tills fertilized farmland that makes crops grow faster.
- Compactor (shovel) — compacts the ground beneath your roads. Walk on any block built over compacted earth to move faster, whatever your road is made of.
- Quick Draw (sword) — increases attack speed as the sword's tier rises.
- Teleport (sword) — blink a short distance in the direction you're looking, consuming an Ender Pearl from your hotbar.
Controls
- Shift + Right Click (in the air): cycle the tool's mode — Normal, Hammer or Special.
- H: adjust the active upgrade (area size, teleport on/off). Rebindable in Controls.
New drops
- Dragon Tooth — dropped by the Ender Dragon.
- Draconic Template — a rare drop from Endermen, affected by Looting.
Compatibility
- Minecraft 26.2, NeoForge 26.2.0.84 or newer
- JEI support (optional): all Forge recipes and upgrades are shown in JEI.
