About
Description
Hallucinations A Fabric 1.20.1 client-side perception mod. A capped event scheduler runs up to five simultaneous distortions: registry-driven false sounds and item disguises, borrowed player faces, black humanoid figures, mobs disguised as players, fake ores, screen-color shifts, fake friend joins, and fake chat messages.
Nothing is sent to or changed on the server.
Use /hallucinations status to inspect the state, /hallucinations toggle to enable or disable effects, and /hallucinations notices to optionally reveal when events start and end. The item, face, figure, sound, ambient, friend, chat, panic, and clear subcommands test individual effects. /hallucinations panic-toggle controls naturally occurring panic sequences. Use /hallucinations item minecraft:water_bucket (or any modded item ID) to choose the debug disguise. /hallucinations sky, voice, and stats test the sun/moon, Simple Voice Chat static, and false HUD-stat events. /hallucinations block, mob, screen, and empty-item test ore clusters, entity disguises, red screen distortion, and items rendered in empty container slots. /hallucinations time tests the accelerated day/night event. Every individual event type has a corresponding debug command.
The first launch creates config/hallucinations.json. Add player names to its friends list to control who can appear to join or send messages. The same file controls the event cap and each sensitive event category. Change notices are off by default. /hallucinations config opens the file in the system editor; after saving, use /hallucinations reload-config.
Items and sounds are selected through Minecraft's live registries, so suitable content added by other mods participates automatically. Rendering uses normal Minecraft entities, item rendering, and Fabric's HUD callback instead of replacing the world renderer, keeping the design friendly to Sodium and similar renderer/performance mods.
When Simple Voice Chat is installed, the optional compatibility entrypoint cancels received voice frames during a voice-static hallucination. It is not a required dependency.
