Description
Scribe
You write your own story, so it stands to reason you'd write your weapon's story as well. Combining a Book and Quill with any item in the anvil will allow you to edit it's lore, and doing the same with a glass block allows you to hide the enchantment list with no commands required.
Core Features
- Custom item lore: Make a book and quill, combine it with an item in the anvil, edit the name slot, and the lore is written.
- Hide enchantments: Add a glass block in the anvil to hide the enchantment tooltip entries for a cleaner look.
- Vanilla‑friendly: No new UIs, commands, blocks, or items.
- Server‑side focused: Designed to run server-side to allow all players to experience the mod without requiring a client install. (NOTE: You can also use this in singleplayer, provided you install the mod clientside)
Mechanics
Once you place a book and quill into the right input slot of an anvil ( [Left] + [Right] = [Output] ), it transforms the anvil's name field into a lore field. All you need to do is replace the name with what you want your item's lore to be, and take the output item. Writing lore does not interfere with item names or enchantments.
If you use a glass block in place of the book and quill, it will hide the enchantments in the tooltip when you hover over it in the inventory. The enchantments are still there, just no longer cluttering your item's name and lore.
