Description

Sensible Inventory Tweaks Logo

Sensible Inventory Tweaks makes a ton of adjustments to loot tables and recipes across the game, aiming to free up space in the players inventory on a journey, be more generous with crafting recipes to have more materials to work with, and streamlining mob drops to give the player more freedom in their playstyle.

The amount of recipe changes, including entirely new recipes is about 180+, while loot table changes sit at 100+. A list of most major adjustments can be viewed here on the GitHub, or the full list of changes through the source code, but to give some examples;

  • Structures like Ruined Portals and Shipwrecks have player gear removed that likely wouldn't of been used anyway.
  • Abandoned Mineshaft chests have raw ores instead of ingots, and older structures like Desert and Jungle temples can occasionally have a block of gold or emerald respectively in their loot chests.
  • All basic animal meat have been merged into three groups. Beef, Pork and Mutton into Flank, Rabbit and Chicken into Haunch and Cod and Salmon into Fish.
  • Many blocks in Lush Caves and the Nether Fungi Forests now only drop with shears or Silk Touch
  • Rabbits additionally no longer drop rabbit hide and instead drop leather in it's place, and the warm animal temperature variants drop more meat while the cold variants drop more hide.
  • Buried Treasure has been reworked to be simple supply chests with crops in them, while the Heart of the Sea have been moved to be an Elder Guardian drop.
  • Lapis given a blockset similar to Quartz'
  • Beetroot (almost) entirely removed (can only be obtained in trail ruins as a fail-safe for villager trades needing them, or of course in villager farms)

To-do list

  • Implement an elegant way to get the legacy meat types for villager trades that need them or alter villager trades to use the SIT meats instead
  • Add more compact blocks with unqiue uses, including giving the Breeze Rod block ambient wind sounds
  • Add Programmer Art support
  • Tweak/Add/Alter more recipes based on player feedback. I made this mod with a specific vision but I'm open to making tweaks and adjustments if I think they're reasonable :) And of course, if anything is not working as intended please raise an issue on the Github!

Due to the recipe and loot table changes, be wary about other mods that do the same, as it may break them. Some should be ok, like Serilums Wool Tweaks since recipes relating to Wool have not been touched in my project. I would like to personally thank the Debloat mod by armet06 for being a huge source of inspiration for this mod, espeically the merging of meat items, and a handful of other changes!

  • Personally I've never liked the idea of just dyeing the Redstone Lamp any colour, I think giving a secondary use to the other full block light sources other than Glowstone is much more interesting :)
