ServerWelcome (Fabric Server-Side)

ServerWelcome is a modern, lightweight, server-side only welcome mod for Minecraft Fabric servers.

?? Features

  • Server-Side Only: Players do not need to install this mod on their clients. Works with vanilla Minecraft and modded clients.
  • Universal Multi-Version Compatibility: Compatible across Minecraft 1.16 through 1.20, 1.21, and 26.x series on Fabric.
  • Persistent First-Join Tracking: Uses UUIDs in config/serverwelcome/players.json so username changes never affect first-join status.
  • Customizable Chat Messages: Unique messages for new vs. returning players.
  • Titles & Subtitles: Server-side animated titles with configurable fade in, stay, and fade out durations.
  • Sound Effects: Play Minecraft sound effects with custom volume and pitch.
  • Action Bar Messages: Optional greetings above the hotbar.
  • Broadcast Announcements: Announce first-time player arrivals to everyone online.
  • First Join Rewards: Execute server console commands (such as starter kits) once per UUID on first join.
  • Dynamic Server Name: The server name is never hardcoded. Change server.name in config.json and %server% updates dynamically across all messages.
  • Suppress Vanilla Messages: Optionally hide default Minecraft join and leave messages.
  • Hex Color & Style Codes: Full support for &a, ?e, &#RRGGBB, and emojis.

?? Installation

  1. Drop serverwelcome.jar into your server's mods/ directory.
  2. Start the server to generate config/serverwelcome/config.json.
  3. Configure your server name, messages, sounds, and rewards.
  4. Run /welcome reload in-game or from the server console to apply changes.

?? Commands

  • /welcome reload - Reload config without server restart.
  • /welcome test - Test the welcome sequence on yourself.
  • /welcome version - Display version information.

?? Permissions

  • serverwelcome.admin - Access to all commands.
  • serverwelcome.reload - Access to /welcome reload.
  • serverwelcome.test - Access to /welcome test.
  • serverwelcome.version - Access to /welcome version.

Compatible with LuckPerms (via fabric-permissions-api-v0) and vanilla OP levels.
