# Seventh Night: Blood Siege
Every seventh night, the moon turns red — and survival becomes a siege.
**Seventh Night: Blood Siege** transforms the peaceful Minecraft night cycle into a recurring survival event built specifically for singleplayer worlds.
When the Blood Moon rises, sleeping is no longer an option. Hostile creatures become stronger, massive hordes surround the player from multiple directions, portals are temporarily blocked, and the danger continues to escalate until sunrise.
## Blood Moon Cycle
A natural Blood Moon occurs every seventh Minecraft day.
The night is divided into four increasingly dangerous phases:
- Phase I — The Hunt Begins
- Phase II — The Horde Grows
- Phase III — No Safe Ground
- Phase IV — Blood Siege
Warnings appear before the event begins, giving the player a limited amount of time to prepare defenses, equipment, food, and escape routes.
## Permanent Threat Progression
Every naturally completed Blood Moon increases the world's permanent Threat Level:
- Threat Level I
- Threat Level II
- Threat Level III
- Threat Level IV
- Threat Level V
Higher Threat Levels introduce:
- Larger and more aggressive hordes
- Stronger enemy compositions
- Attacks from additional directions
- Raiders and hostile spellcasters
- Nether creatures
- Flying threats
- Extreme final sieges
The difficulty belongs to the world and continues increasing as more Blood Moons are survived.
## Massive Multi-Directional Hordes
Enemies do not simply spawn nearby and wander around.
The Blood Siege director creates coordinated attack fronts around the player, covering the front, sides, and rear.
Hordes continue tracking the player's current position, making it much harder to escape the event by simply running away.
At the highest Threat Level, the final siege can contain hundreds of enemies over the course of the battle, with constant reinforcements keeping the pressure active.
High-level sieges are intentionally demanding and may require powerful hardware, prepared defenses, and optimized Minecraft settings.
## Enemy Variety
Depending on the current phase and Threat Level, Blood Moon hordes may include:
- Zombies
- Skeletons
- Spiders
- Creepers
- Witches
- Pillagers
- Vindicators
- Evokers
- Zombified Piglins
- Magma Cubes
- Wither Skeletons
- Blazes
- Ghasts
At Threat Level V, the final siege may culminate in a special encounter with either:
- The Wither
- The Ender Dragon
Only one event boss can appear at a time.
Special Blood Moon bosses and Nether invaders are removed safely when the event ends and are prevented from destroying the player's world.
## Land and Water Pursuit
Escaping into water will not automatically end the siege.
Blood Moon enemies can continue pressuring players near rivers, lakes, and oceans, while specialized interception behavior makes boats less reliable as a permanent escape method.
## Temporary Portal Lockdown
During an active Blood Moon, travel from the Overworld into the Nether or the End is temporarily blocked.
Portals return to normal when the event ends.
## Visual and Audio Atmosphere
Blood Moon nights include:
- A Minecraft-style crimson moon
- A progressively stronger red atmosphere
- Light crimson fog in outdoor areas
- Phase warnings
- Event sounds
- A dedicated Blood Moon boss bar
The custom atmosphere is removed when the sun rises or when the event is stopped.
