Shield Expansion doesn’t do anything new, but it does these tried and true mechanics well. The parrying feels good, the shield designs feel great. There’s no unnecessary features.
One standout is the variety in playstyles based on your shield. Instead of a linear upgrade system where each shield is better than the last, the different shields have varied cooldowns and parry windows, making each shield have its own advantages and disadvantages.
