Have you ever broken a chest full of valuable items only to watch everything explode across the ground? Whether you're moving your base, organizing storage, or transporting supplies, collecting every scattered item can be frustrating and time-consuming.

SilkStorage solves that problem.

SilkStorage is a lightweight Fabric mod that allows you to break supported storage blocks with a Silk Touch tool and pick them up with all of their contents preserved. Simply mine the storage block, carry it wherever you want, place it back down, and continue exactly where you left off.

The mod is designed to feel like a natural extension of vanilla Minecraft. It doesn't add new blocks, items, recipes, or complicated mechanics. Instead, it improves an everyday task while keeping gameplay balanced through the optional Silk Touch requirement.

Supported Storage Blocks

SilkStorage currently supports:

• Chest
• Trapped Chest
• Barrel
• Hopper
• Dispenser
• Dropper

Each supported block retains its inventory when broken with Silk Touch (if enabled) and restores every item when placed again.

How It Works

Using SilkStorage couldn't be easier.

1. Fill a supported storage block with items.
2. Equip a Silk Touch tool.
3. Break the storage block.
4. Pick up the dropped block.
5. Place it anywhere you like.

When placed again, every item is restored exactly as it was before breaking the block.

No item explosions.

No reorganizing inventories.

No tedious cleanup.

Just pick it up and move it.

Configuration

SilkStorage automatically generates a configuration file after the game starts.

The configuration allows you to customize which storage blocks can preserve their inventories and whether Silk Touch is required.

Example options include:

• Enable or disable the Silk Touch requirement.
• Enable or disable support for individual storage blocks.
• Customize the experience for servers or modpacks.

This makes SilkStorage easy to tailor to different playstyles without editing the mod itself.

Multiplayer Friendly
