Description

If you are like me, you started playing again cause you heard axolotls were a thing now. And if you are like me you also were extremely mad they weren't in the versions of Minecraft with all the cool mods. And then you were freaking astounded no one had done a decent port of them yet. So here I am after two very late nights for myself to yell you, I got tired of waiting for someone to do it right and I did it myself.

CORRECTION, I downloaded MCREATOR and figured out how to do it sufficiently... Cause lets be honest I don't know how to code but I wanted Axolotls in 1.16 so I made it happen.

There are now FOUR (and bound to be more soon) varieties of Axolotl Albino, Dark, Glowing and Swamp

  • as of yet I am unable to make them all one mob so they are each separate, this means they cannot breed between different types (I eagerly await the day I figure that one out)
  • As each is different and unique and I felt you should have to go LOOKING for them they all spawn in different places!
  • These axolotls do not hunt fish as their vanilla counterparts do, they eat kelp instead!

Albino Axolotls:

These guys are the ones that most people are familiar with, while they are certainly not natural... we won't tell the mod that! They can be found in bodies of water in oak or birch forest biomes! (I personally noticed a lot of shallow lakes that never had inhabitants so it felt like a good place to put these guys so they don't compete with other spawns)

Dark Axolotl's:

Probably the most beautiful of varieties, these axolotls can be found in the dark and mysterious dark oak forests.

Glowing Axolotl's:

Certainly unusual and only possible in minecraft(or lab settings) these axolotls can be found in deep and dark oceans of the chilly variety. Remember axolotls irl need REALLY cold water so try to keep them out of the tropical oceans!

Credits for Texture on this particular axolotl going to Akashii_Kun_ . As apparently the texture I found online was taken from their mod.

Swamp Axolotl's:

These guys are much closer to what NATURAL axolotls look like... at least to my understanding. I've placed them in swamps cause it just felt right.
