Description

Skate 3-style skateboarding for Minecraft. Ride a board with Flick-It controls: the right stick
does the tricks, the left stick steers and spins. Ollies, flip tricks, grinds, manuals, wallrides,
ramps up to 12 blocks tall, a combo score, and a skater who actually moves with the board.

## Requirements
- Minecraft **1.21.11**
- [Fabric Loader](https://fabricmc.net/use/) **0.18.4** or newer
- [Fabric API](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/fabric-api)
- A controller is recommended (Xbox layout, read directly; no controller mod needed). Keyboard works too.

## Install
1. Install Fabric Loader for 1.21.11 and put Fabric API in your `mods` folder.
2. Drop `skatecraft-<version>.jar` into `mods`.
3. Start the Fabric profile. Everything is in the **SkateCraft** creative tab.

Uninstall: delete the jar. Worlds keep working; SkateCraft blocks in them turn into missing blocks.

## Controls (controller / keyboard)
| Action | Controller | Keyboard |
|---|---|---|
| Push / mongo push | A / X | W / R |
| Brake (hold + steer hard = powerslide) | B | S |
| Steer, spin in the air | Left stick | A / D |
| Flick-It tricks | Right stick | Arrow keys |
| Grabs (front / back hand) | LT / RT | Z / C |
| Step off | Y | X (or sneak) |

**Flick-It** (regular stance; goofy mirrors left/right):
- Ollie: pull down, flick up. Nollie: push up, flick down.
- Kickflip: down, then up-left. Heelflip: down, then up-right.
- Pop shove-it: down, then left (or right) and let go.
- Varial kickflip / 360 shove-it / 360 flip: sweep down around the left side and let go at up-left / up / up-right. Mirror on the right for varial heelflip / FS 360 shove-it / laser flip.
- Late flips: flick from the centre while in the air.
- Manual: hold the stick part-way down (nose manual: part-way up) and keep the balance bar centred.
- Pump: hold the stick down through the bottom of a transition.
- No comply: hold push while you ollie. Revert: flick the left stick right after landing.
- Wallride: hit a wall at a glancing angle in the air.

`/skatestance regular|goofy` switches your stance.

## What's in it
- **Board physics:** pushing, carving, powerslides, slopes, pumping, ramps, vert airs, bails that throw you the way you were going.
- **Grinds:** 50-50, 5-0, nosegrind, boardslide and crooked grinds on fences, walls, bars, panes, ledges (any block edge), quarter pipe coping, and the new Grind Rail and Handrail blocks.
- **Ramps:** kicker, banks (1, 2, 4, 6 blocks), quarter pipes (1, 2, 3, 6, 10 blocks), mega kicker and a 12-block roll-in. Big ramps place and break as one piece.
- **Skatepark kits:** Stair Set, Funbox and Halfpipe kits build a whole piece in front of you.
- **`/skatepark`** (needs cheats) builds a full 221 x 221 park around you: mega ramp, 10-block halfpipe, bowl, street section, jump line.
- **Combo score:** chain tricks for a multiplier, bank it by rolling away clean, lose it by bailing.
- **Skater body:** the rider leans into carves, tilts with ramps, crouches, tucks, balances with their arms, pushes with the back foot, and ragdolls on bails. Uses your normal skin.
- Sparks, dust, and synthesized board sounds.

## Compatibility
- Built for **singleplayer**. The board's physics run on the rider's own game, so on a server other players see you ride but not every trick animation.
- Tested together with Vivecraft 1.3.7 in flat-screen mode (not in VR).

## Credits
- Built on [Fabric](https://fabricmc.net/) and Fabric API.
- Inspired by EA's *skate.* series. SkateCraft is a fan-made lookalike: no code, models or audio from any Skate game are included, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Electronic Arts.
- **AI disclosure:** SkateCraft's code, sounds and art were made with Claude (Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5, in Claude Code) working with the mod's author. The sounds are synthesized by a script (`tools/make_sounds.py`) and the textures are programmatic pixel art; no AI image or audio generators were used.
