Description

Sky and Weather

A real sky over your world. Sky and Weather replaces the flat vanilla sky with one that changes by the hour, the night and the season: light that scatters at sunrise, clouds with depth, auroras that are never the same twice, storms you can see coming, and snow that remembers where you walked.

It is a client mod with no shader pack needed, written to stay fast on low-end machines.

Day sky

  • Scattering sky with a soft sun, real sunrise and sunset colour, sun rays and a gentle lens flare.
  • Volumetric clouds with real depth, and mist and fog that settle in valleys and thicken in bad weather.

Night sky

  • The real night sky with a soft moon, moon phases and moonlight on the ground.
  • Shooting stars and, on some nights, full meteor showers.
  • Aurora with a different strength and colour palette each night.

Wind and storms

  • Wind with a direction that changes from day to day. Leaves rustle, and a gale can blow a tree over.
  • Rain and snow drift with the wind, stay out from under roofs, and are visible through glass from indoors.
  • Lightning scars the ground where it strikes and rarely starts a fire.

Snow, tracks and seasons

  • Snow cover builds up during snowfall, can be dug away, and keeps footprints.
  • Tracks in sand as well.
  • Seasons: leaf and grass colour shift through the year, with snow in winter.

Good to know

  • Client side: works in single player and on any server.
  • With Rain and Water installed, rain streaks lean with the wind and puddles form where the rain actually reaches. Recommended together, not required.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader, Java 25
  • Fabric API
