Description

SkyMC Core

SkyMC Core is a very lightweight custom core mod built specifically for the upcoming SkyMC Modpack.
It exists to enable advanced client-side visual features, immersive gameplay behaviors, and deep integration between mods that cannot be achieved with KubeJS alone.

⚠️ Important: This mod is not a general-purpose library mod. It is tightly coupled to the SkyMC Modpack and depends on very specific KubeJS items, scripts, mods and integrations. On its own, it will not function as intended.

What SkyMC Core Actually Does
Client-side Visual Recipes (Beyond KubeJS Limitations)

SkyMC Core allows the modpack to:

Add and modify visual-only recipes in JEI and EMI

Show custom progression hints through recipe displays

Control how players perceive crafting systems without affecting actual server recipes

This enables things like:

- Showing players what they should discover later

- Hiding true recipes while displaying lore-friendly alternatives

- Creating progression illusions that guide exploration naturally

This is something KubeJS alone cannot fully accomplish, especially when working across both JEI and EMI consistently.

🌿 Twilight Portal Interaction

SkyMC Core adds immersive feedback when players attempt to activate a Twilight Forest-style portal.

Instead of silent failure, players receive custom in-game messages, such as:

“You need a Tier 4 Rocket to fly to the Twilight Forest Planet.”

This:

- Reinforces progression

- Prevents confusion

- Makes mechanics feel intentional and lore-driven

- Connects portal behavior to the modpack’s larger theme

Dynamic Weather Behavior

SkyMC Core also includes custom weather logic, meaning certain actions or world conditions can influence weather changes.

This allows the modpack to create moments like:

Weather reacting to world events

Atmosphere shifting during important progression milestones

A more immersive and reactive world overall

Rather than weather being random, it can become part of the storytelling and progression system.

Deep Integration with These Mods

SkyMC Core is built to interact directly with and modify the experience of the following mods:

- Alex’s Mobs

- Architectury

- Blueprint

- EMI

- KubeJS + Rhino

- Allurement

- CoFH Core

- JEI

- Citadel

- Create

- Domestication Innovation

- Ensorcellation

- Mining Master

- Additional Enchantments

- Farmer’s Delight

- Supplementaries

- Useful Spyglass

- Moonlight Lib

These integrations primarily affect:

- Recipe visibility

- Visual progression

- Client-side UI behavior

- Immersion features

Designed for One Purpose: SkyMC Modpack

SkyMC Core is:

- Built exclusively for the SkyMC Modpack

- Dependent on custom KubeJS items

- Designed around pack-specific mechanics

- Not intended for standalone use

If you load this mod outside of the SkyMC environment, many features will appear broken or non-functional, and the mod will crash — because they are meant to rely on custom systems only present in the modpack.
