SmartBox

SmartBox is a client-side Fabric mod for Cobblemon that improves team, PC, held-item, shulker, and moveset management.

Quick Teams

Save multiple Pokémon teams and quickly switch between them.

Each saved team can keep its own:

  • Pokémon composition
  • Held items
  • Movesets

The same Pokémon can be used in multiple saved teams with different held items and different movesets.

When a team is selected outside of a PC, SmartBox only queues the request. Nothing is changed until you open a valid Cobblemon PC.

Automatic Team Loading

When loading a saved team from a PC, SmartBox can automatically:

  • Store held items from the current team
  • Move Pokémon between the party and PC
  • Retrieve required held items
  • Equip the target items
  • Apply saved movesets
  • Return unused items to storage
  • Restore registered shulkers to their original inventory slots
  • Verify the final team state

A dedicated loading screen displays the real progress of the operation and its final result.

Held Items and Shulkers

Registered shulker boxes can be used as storage for Pokémon held items.

SmartBox can search registered shulkers, retrieve required items, store removed items, consolidate duplicates, and safely restore shulkers after use.

The item-management system is designed to avoid overwriting, deleting, or duplicating items.

Team-Specific Movesets

Movesets are stored per saved team.

The same Pokémon can therefore use one saved moveset in Team A and a different saved moveset in Team B.

PC Tools

SmartBox adds additional tools to the Cobblemon PC interface for faster team and Pokémon management.

Client-Side Only

SmartBox is client-side only.

The server does not need SmartBox installed.

SmartBox does not require a SmartBox server plugin, custom SmartBox server packet, or SmartBox server command.

It uses normal Cobblemon client/server interactions and does not bypass server permissions.

Compatibility

SmartBox 3.0.0 supports:

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • Fabric
  • Cobblemon 1.7.x
  • Java 21

Cobblemon 1.8 is not supported by SmartBox 3.0.0.

Requirements

  • Fabric Loader
  • Fabric API
  • Cobblemon

Installation

  1. Install Fabric for Minecraft 1.21.1.
  2. Install Fabric API.
  3. Install a compatible Cobblemon 1.7.x version.
  4. Place SmartBox in your Minecraft mods folder.
  5. Start Minecraft.

Notes

If automatic held-item management is disabled, SmartBox will not automatically move or equip held items.

If shulker usage is disabled, SmartBox will not search registered shulkers for required held items.

If an operation cannot be completed safely because of inventory space or missing items, SmartBox may leave the team partially configured rather than risk item loss.
