Description

SoftWind is a return to the atmosphere of the old Minecraft and its harsh yet exciting survival experience.

To change the atmosphere and visuals, the mod has reverted to classic textures and modified the lighting, fog, terrain generation, and some mob models to match the style of Minecraft’s beta versions.

Some mobs, blocks, enchantments, biomes, and structures that were redundant, completely useless, or unnecessary have been removed.
At the same time, several new mobs have been added, and the Giant has been brought back.

Changes have also been made to the gameplay:

  • Running and hunger have been removed, and food is consumed instantly.
  • Mobs are knocked back almost instantly when they take damage, that strange delay found in newer versions has been fixed.
  • The player’s coordinates have been removed from the F3 menu; now, you must craft a compass to view them.
  • The behavior of some mobs has changed: Creepers are more dangerous and can sense their prey even through walls, while zombies on high difficulty can use doors as shields.
  • Armor progression has been added: armor_progression One aspect of this progression is that deepslate and the ore within it can only be mined with a diamond pickaxe or better, and crafting a bed now requires cloth to recapture the feeling of those first nights full of danger.
  • No more trading halls; villager trading has been completely overhauled. They no longer buy anything with emeralds—they only sell—and the number of emeralds in the world has been increased.
  • Spawners are no longer infinite, they stop after 50 mobs. You can make them infinite using the nether star.
  • Classic experience or iron farms no longer work; to address this, some mobs have been removed or no longer drop the necessary items.
  • A Blood Moon, which buffs certain enemy mobs.
  • The stars in each world are unique, and their positions, numbers, and sizes depend on the world's seed.

And overall, lots and lots of minor changes, both visual and gameplay-related.

Some additional mechanics have also been added, such as an isometric camera in the End, new mechanism blocks like the Enderman’s head or the fan block, dynamite blocks, and more.
