Description

Some Inventory

Some Inventory adds a new gamerule, keep_some_inventory, to Minecraft's vanilla world creation screen, allowing players to keep essential items after death instead of losing everything.

The gamerule is disabled by default (false), but it can be enabled when creating a world or changed at any time using the /gamerule command when cheats or commands are available.

This mod is a modern continuation of the original Keep Some Inventory project, which is no longer maintained for recent Minecraft versions. The goal of this project is to provide ongoing support while introducing new features and quality-of-life improvements.

Features

  • Adds the keep_some_inventory gamerule to the vanilla world creation screen.
  • Fully configurable using the /gamerule command.
  • Lightweight and designed to integrate seamlessly with vanilla gameplay.

Items Kept After Death

When keep_some_inventory is enabled, players retain:

  • Shields
  • Totems of Undying
  • Weapons
  • Tools
  • Armor
  • Food items

Planned Features

  • Support for additional modding platforms
  • Cloth Config API integration
  • More utility and quality-of-life features
  • Compatibility with both newer and older Minecraft versions

Development

Support for older versions, Cloth Config integration, and additional platform support will be added over time.

Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions are always welcome. If you enjoy the mod, consider downloading it and sharing your experience—it helps guide future development and prioritize new features.
