Something Feels Off (Discontinued & Broken)

READ THIS BEFORE INSTALLING

I’m going to be brutally honest with you guys: This mod is a mess.

I am officially discontinuing support for it. This was a massive experiment to see if I could make a psychological horror mod that "breaks the fourth wall," but I bit off way more than I could chew. The code required to make the game "glitch" intentionally is a nightmare to manage.

The result? It's buggy. It's unstable. It probably won't work the way it's supposed to. You can still download it if you're curious, but please lower your expectations. The experience is likely going to be frustrating rather than scary because of how janky the mechanics are.

What it tries to do

The concept was a slow-burn horror that degrades your world over 75 hours:

  • Paranoia: Silence getting heavier, lighting getting colder.
  • Hallucinations: Seeing your own skin watching you, fake chat messages, and entities that mimic you.
  • Meta Horror: Fake crashes, simulated system warnings, and "clipboard hijacking" (leaving spooky messages in your copy/paste buffer).

Why I stopped

It was simply too difficult to build and maintain. The "horror" often breaks because the code is unstable. I am planning a spiritual successor—a new horror mod built from scratch that actually works—but this specific version is finished.

Safety & Reality Check

Even though the mod is broken and janky, I need to clarify the safety features so nobody panics:

  • This is NOT malware. It does not read your personal files or steal data.
  • The "Hacks" are fake. The system warnings and clipboard stuff are just visual tricks for horror.
  • World Deletion: There is a "Final Event" logic that tries to delete the world save (lore reasons). Do not play this on a world you care about.
