Soot's Sandwichcraft

Welcome to the page for Soot's Sandwichcraft! This is a mod containing many varieties of bread, cheese, sandwiches, and side dishes.

I recommend using JEI or a similar mod for easily looking at sandwich and tool recipes. It'd be hard to play without one in survival.

The bread and cheese recipes aren't integrated yet, so I've made image guides! They are located in the images tab of the mod page. (the bread guide is in a grid format, each row and column shows which pan and dough combinations make each type of bread)

Starting with seeds gained from breaking grass and a salt pot (crafted with a cauldron and campfire), you can start the breadmaking process. (Be aware, the seeds will fill up your inventory fast. They are compostable if you don't want to just throw out extras.)

Crops from this mod, along with wheat, will be needed for your sandwiches in one way or another. One of the most important ones is the caper plant. In this mod, caper leaves are used to make rennet, which is used in cheesemaking, so make sure to plant at least some.

Bananas and lemons are both obtained by breaking leaves of any tree.

Salt is made by right clicking on the salt pot whilst holding a water bucket. This will use up the water and begin the process of making salt, which will finish after one minute. You get 32 salt per use.

Also be sure to craft a mortar and pestle as it is used for many things. It is made with 3 pieces of cobblestone and a wooden shovel.

Baking Bread:

Kneading:

Once you have the ingredients for the type of dough you'd like to make, and have crafted it, it will result in the "flat" version of the dough. You need to use the kneading board to prepare it for its next stage.

All you need to do is put in the dough and press the knead button.

Proofing:

After you knead your dough, the next step is to proof it in the proofing bowl. All this takes is a little time. Put in as much dough as you want (up to a certain point) and it'll proof the dough bit by bit.

Baking: Once the dough has risen, you can bake it in combination with a pan in the bread oven. You'll also need fuel for the bread oven.

After your bread is baked, you can slice it with the bread knife in order to eat it.

Making Cheese:

Most sandwiches won't be complete without the addition of cheese!

Making Cheese:

For making your wheel of cheese, you'll need a cheese pot (made with a bucket and a campfire), a flint and steel to light it, and the ingredients for your cheese of choice. Almost all cheeses will use a milk bucket, rennet, and salt.

Right click the cheese pot with each of the ingredients used in your cheese, then right click it with flint and steel. The cheese pot will make sound effects. If you've accidentally put in the wrong ingredients, shift right click the pot with an empty hand.

Pressing the Cheese:

Most cheese you make will pop out of the pot as curds. With the cheese press (a tool you can keep in your inventory) and a crafting table you can turn the cheese into its pressed form.

Parmesan cheese will need to be pressed twice before it's ready for aging.

Aging Cheese:

Any pressed cheese that isn't mozzarella will need to be aged in the Cask. Simply place it into the aging cask and wait.

Making Your Sandwiches:

Making sandwiches is as simple as slicing your bread and using the crafting table. Sandwich recipes can be found in the game's recipe book provided they're unlocked or with mods like JEI, currently.

Sandwiches can stack up to 64 and restore varying amounts of hunger.

Decorative Blocks:

This mod also adds several decorative blocks. There are 7 varieties of counters, a knife block, and a cup to store whisks in.

To add items to the knife block or whisk cup, right click it with your knife/whisk. To remove the knives/whisks, sneak and right click the knife block/whisk cup.

If you're placing counters and the counters start turning into the corner version when you don't want them to, holding the sneak button will override this, and the counters will be placed normally.
