Description

Soulscorch

There's no reason to go to the Soul Sand Valley in vanilla other than to get Soul Sand and Soul Soil. This mod hopefully gives you a few reason, as well as a challenge to harvesting the blocks that make up the biome.

New Blocks

Soul Brewing Stand

  • An upgraded brewing stand that brews potions in half the time. Crafted with 1 Blazt Rod and 3 Basalt. Fueled with Blazt Powder.
  • Texture pack creators: This uses the Brewing Stand UI, except for the fuel bar. I don't know why I did it either.

Iron Bulb

  • Remember the old Copper Bulb that had that 1 tick delay? That's the Iron Bulb's job now. Similar recipe to the Copper Bulb, but using Blocks of Iron and a Blazt Rod instead of Copper Blocks and a Blaze rod. I've also made both recipes rotatable.

Soul Slag

  • Crafted with 4 Soul Cream, this is a soul variant of the Magma Block.

Piglins are afraid of these blocks.

New Effects

Soulscorch Effect

  • Each time you take damage with this effect active, your max health will go down by half a heart.
  • A good night's rest will return your health back to normal
  • This effect is applied in the following ways:
    • Stepping on Soul Fire, Soul Campfire, or Soul Slag
    • Stepping in a Soulscorch cloud spawned from a Soul Charge

Soul Render Effect

  • Drinking a Potion of Soul Render will instantly restore your max health back to 20 (or 10 hearts). Potion is brewed with a Soul Cream and Awkward Potion

Entities

Blazt

  • The Blazt is an undead cross between a Blaze and a Ghast. You'll hear it bellowing in the Soulsand Valley. It will randomly choose a Ghast fireball and a Soul Charge to shoot at you.
  • Soul Charges, upon contact with a block or player, will burst into a lingering cloud that applies Instant Damage and the Soulscorch Effect. Watch your feet.

Soulless

  • Resembling a Piglin, they are very common spawns in the Soulsand Valley, standing near-motionless in groups up to 8.
  • Breaking any soul-based block while any are nearby, will wake it up, and the Soulless around you will watch you. That's your first and only warning.
  • It uses melee attacks that inflict the Soulscorch effect.
  • Spawns in the Soul Sand Valley. Piglins are scared of Soulless.

Restless

  • Resembling a Hoglin, they are rare spawns in the Soulsand Valley.
  • This mob punishes players for getting damaged in the Soulsand Valley. If you get hurt with a Restless nearby, it will wake up, look for you, and will charge at the player. It will then go back to sleep.
  • Piglins are scared of Restless.

Items

Blazt Rod

  • Dropped by Blazts

Blazt Powder

  • 1 Blazt Rod can be crafted into two Blazt Powder
  • Used to fuel Soul Brewing Stand

Soul Cream

  • 1 Blazt Powder + 1 Slime Ball
  • Used to brew a Soul Render Potion or craft into Soul Slag.

Soul Shard

  • Dropped by Restless and Soulless.

Soulward Totem

  • Crafted with 5 Gold Ingots and 2 Soul Shards
  • Holding it while inflicted with Soulscorch sacrifices the totem's durability instead of your max health.
  • Can be enchanted on an Anvil with Unbreaking and Mending.
