About

Description

You may or may not have seen those horror mods with all those dwellers and what not. They all of something in common. They all add a monster, at first they might be scary and what not, but after a while of seeing them over and over again they repetitive.

So to change things up I made this mod. It doesn’t any monsters or entities. Instead it adds various sounds that can be heard in a forest of any kind with the exception of the jungle. These sounds only play at night and if in a forest.

I made the mod this way to add a sense of being watched even when you know you are alone. This adds a layer of phycological horror that is meant to scare you when you are off-guard.

Of course it would get boring after a while of hearing the same sound over and over again, so I made it so that sounds are rarely heard.

Compatibility

SOTF works with any biome mod as long as the biome is tagged with minecraft:is_forest or minecraft:is_taiga.

Configuration

The mod comes with a configuration file that can be found in the config file in your minecraft directory. It is named SOTF.toml. Inside you can ajust the cooldown between each sound. If you change the cooldown and load into a pre-existing world, you will need to wait for the previews time to finish for it to reset to the time you set.
