Description

Version 6.2 has arrived!

This version's got a lot going on: new frog buffs, The ÜberFrog's gotten even more wild, control how often The ÜberFrog can spawn in your world, allow frog to eat ANY hostile mobs including LARGE slimes and magma cubes, full compatibility with SpaceFrog's Real Pet Frogs, and compatibility with frog bucket mods.

Frogs Are Buff & Hungry!

This datapack massively upgrades Minecraft frogs: The default health of frogs has increased from 10 HP to 20 HP (same as the player). Frogs will attack any hostile mob, and a regular frog will do 50 HP of damage - that's enough to take out most hostiles in the game like zombies and creepers, but the heavy hitters like Wardens will still be able to put up a fight. This datapack only includes hostiles for the vanilla game, but if you're running some or all of the mods as the FroggyCraft Modpack, you might want to check out SpaceFrog's Hungry Hungry Frogs *FroggyCraft Addon* datapack.

The ÜberFrog

This pack also adds a rare frog variant, The ÜberFrog – and elusive, immortal, insatiable frog that can one-shot kill ANY hostile mob - they make great guard-frogs for your base and companions on your adventures. You can spot when The ÜberFrog spawns in your world by its overly dramatic entrance (you'll hear the Totem of Undying sound), and it will keep a glowing effect for 20 seconds after it spawns. After that, you'll still be able to spot The ÜberFrog by the particle effects it produces and its custom name. By default, ÜberFrogs are rare - there's only a 1 in 200 chance of any random frog spawning in your world becoming a an ÜberFrog (there can in fact be more than one ÜberFrog in the world, "The ÜberFrog" is just his full legal name).

Creative mode users and server admins/ops can set the probability of newly spawned frogs becoming an ÜberFrog with the following command:

/data modify storage hungry_frog:configs uberfrog_rarity set value #

Replace '#' with denominator of your probability; i.e., replace it with 10 so that 1 out of every 10 newly spawned frogs becomes an ÜberFrog, replace it with 1 so that every frog becomes an ÜberFrog. To disable ÜberFrog spawning, replace '#' with 0. Remember to reload your world/server to have these changes take immediate effect.

Getting your hands on The ÜberFrog is even easier in creative mod – just rename any frog "uber" using a name tag and it will convert into The ÜberFrog.

In creative mode, you can also summon The ÜberFrog with this command:

/function hungry_frog:user/summon_uberfrog

You can convert any regular frog into The ÜberFrog by standing close to them and running this command:

/function hungry_frog:user/convert_to_uberfrog

And you can turn any ÜberFrog back into a regular frog by standing close to them and running this command:

/function hungry_frog:user/undo_uberfrog

Pet Frogs

The version 6.1 update has spun off the pet frog features of this datapack into its own, more complete, more capable datapack SpaceFrog's Real Pet Frogs. It's a datapack lets you tame frogs and have them behave similar to other mob tamed mobs; you can tell your pet frogs to stay home or have them follow you on adventures. And you can also mass teleport your frogs to your location whenever you need them. The Hungry Hungry Frogs and Real Pet Frogs datapack are designed to work hand in hand but can be run separately, but you'll be missing out on the true potential of Minecraft frogs if you're running only one of these datapacks.

Compatible with Bucket Mods

This datapack is compatible with the Bucket of Frog mod, it's fully tested for the versions of Minecraft this mod is currently available on. Newer version of Minecraft running other mods that allow you to carry frogs in buckets are not tested, but the datapack should be compatible with them too (please report any bugs you encounter with other mods).

Troubleshooting
  • The Bucket of Frog mod is the only mod that allows you to store frogs in buckets that this datapack is validated to be compatible with. If you're using another mod, normal frogs will not be affected but the properties of The ÜberFrog might be lost depending on how the mod stores frog data in the bucket item. If you encounter an issue, please join the Discord and let me know what mod you're using so the datapack can be updated and made compatible with it.
  • If you're not finding any ÜberFrogs spawning naturally in your world or when breeding frogs, ensure the datapack is running. You can tell if it's running when looking at the health level of any newly spawned frogs - it should be 20 HP. If it's 10 HP (the game default for frogs) or 12 HP, then the datapack is not running. If the datapack is running, you just need to be patient as there's only 1 in 200 change of a newly spawned from being an ÜberFrog. This probability can be set by in creative mode or by server ops/admins as described above. Or you can use the "/function hungry_frog:user/summon_uberfrog" command to spawn The ÜberFrog at your location in the world.
