About
Description
This mod was created to test the theory that civilization can be simulated in Minecraft, as long as there are a few small changes:
- Monsters are tougher, and zombies can break through walls, forcing players to work together and build defensively.
- Crops grow, and ores spawn, at different rates, all depending on the biome, encouraging trade between regions.
- Players have limited inventory, increasing their reliance on other players and infrastructure.
- There are 9 skills players can gain experience in and get better at: Melee Combat, Ranged Combat, Armor, Mining, Farming, Carpentry, Masonry, Husbandry, and Navigation. They can only max out so many of these skills, but doing so opens inventory slots and allows them to fulfill various roles in society.
- Hunger is divided into carbs, fats, and proteins, requiring players to have a balanced diet. Activities like running or jumping drain carbs, while fighting, breaking, or placing blocks drain protein.
- Foods expire at varying rates, which can be mitigated by putting them in chests over ice blocks, or in the custom chest, the "Ice Chest".
- Plus a few other changes that can be found in the mod's guidebook given upon joining a world. (Such as jungle saplings drop at the regular rate like the rest of the saplings, rather than the measly few they typically drop at... I digress.)
Ideally, this is meant for servers and large multiplayer worlds, but if you want to try it on your own, then be my guest. The mod can easily be set up to work completely server-side, so vanilla clients can join with only needing to download a small resource pack upon joining the server. However, if not playing on a server, then all players will need the mod installed.
