Description

Requirements

NeoForge 1.21.1. All of the following are required:

Tomes from Ars and Ars addons are included automatically when they use the standard ars_nouveau:caster_tome recipe type.

Spell Conversion Station

Craft the station with a book, source gems, and obsidian. It looks like an enchanting table, with source-purple stone and a floating book.

  • Place a caster tome in the slot.
  • Click Add to Codex. The tome is consumed.
  • That glyph recipe is discovered in the Codex under the Ars Nouveau tab, unlocked at level 1.

Each distinct glyph recipe becomes one spell. Two tomes with the same glyphs share a spell; Projectile+Break and Projectile+Break+Amplify stay separate.

In the Codex and on the Actionbar

  • Icons use the form glyph with the first effect overlaid.
  • The spell's name and description match the tome.
  • Codex's spell inspector and scroll tooltips list every glyph in the recipe.
  • Mana cost is the Ars recipe cost, paid as Iron's mana. Ars source is not spent. There is no Iron's cooldown.
  • Casting runs the original Ars sequence (projectile, touch, self, linger, and so on).
  • Ars spells can be removed from the Codex with the inspector Remove button.

Progress

Ars Nouveau school progress (and the overall Codex bar) uses the number of unique published caster tomes, including addon tomes. The grid still only shows recipes you have converted. A custom tome that is not in those datapacks is added to the total after you convert it, so the bar cannot exceed 100%.
