About

Description

Expanding the Original SSC Transformation Contents.

SSC Extras is an addon for Shape Shifter Curse that expands transformation progression, introduces feralizing collars, and lets transformed players use restricted equipment through the Feral Effigy.

Requirements & Dependencies

--The following descriptions may contain spoilers--

Instinct-Based Progression

The curse may build before your first transformation. Your instinct gauge is now visible in Original Shifter form, and cursed-creature attacks build instinct toward that creature’s form.
(Changed mod style)

Curse potions add instincts too. Even after transformed, matching creatures and potions continue continue to build your instinct gauge.

Permanent transformation is no longer locked and you may progress through instinct gains.

Cooling Down Your instincts

Now You may cool down your instincts while in the original form and the stage 2 form (before permanent) by not indulging in your instincts.

Cursed Moonlight

Cursed Moons no longer freeze your instinct gauge. Exposed to it will increase your instinct, hide under a roof! (Or bask in the moonlight, your choice!)

More Cursed Encounters

Watchout for modded cursed creatures (and the witch). They will continue to spread the curse until your one of them!
SSC Addon creatures compatible.

Pillager's Encounter

New Transformations - Earthen Drake

image Seems like a flightless dragon. Pillagers use them as mounts. What could go wrong to get close to them?

You might not want to get close to the pillagers while under the effect of the Drake Curse. (Just a little warning: You may get mistaken as their mount and get "voluntarily" recruited.)

For those who really really want to risk it, I added a game rule that allows uncursed players to be recruited on sight.

It is a form that has similar difficulties as the bat form (i.e., no tool, no armor in later stages). Spoiler alert: You might lose the ability to walk up-straight.

Since most of the forms in the original SSC is mostly shrinking, this one is about enlarging. The player will grow larger with each phase.

Later on, the form would grant you approximately diamond level of tool usage and weapon. (You can also upgrade it to Netherite level with the help of a trinket).

Try to not eat too much raw meat or walk on all fours. You might enjoy it too much.

At feral form with a saddle, you may pick up humanoids (like your unsuspecting friends or villagers or pillagers) by sneak-right clicking.

Form Specific Trinket:

image

  • Netherite Claw Tips: Those oversized claw tips, when attached to a drake's claws, will greatly enhance their abilities.

image image

  • Rider's Chest: The double chest that fits perfectly on drake's body. You can put it on feral drakes or on yourself if you are one. The drake can press the secondary ability key (from SSC mod) to open the inventory. The rider can open the inventory like other mount chests by sneak right clicking it.

SSC Permanent Form Powers:

  • Primary: Body Slam: Deals damage (equals to 100% of your max health) to your enemies in front of you. Consumes Hunger.

  • Secondary: Access the Equipped Mount Trinkets. For now, there's Rider's Chest (a double chest inventory that you and the rider can access).

New Structure

Drake Stables

image So this is where the pillagers been keeping their drakes, though theres an ominously empty stall.

If you happen to have the drake curse or the previously said gamerule on, you might get "recruited."

image

Pillager approaching with your new equipments. Run while you still can! (Or not, Im not judging) Enjoy your new life as a mount for the outpost and live in that stall (time to get used to sleeping on the hay bales) or escape when no ones looking!

image You may also find Cursed Reins and Saddles and some food for the drake in the chest. Hungry drakes are fed by pillagers nearby. And drakes are leashed back to their stalls during the night.

Drakes escaping from their stalls for more than three times will be severely punished.

Pillager will equip an extra cursed collar to prevent future escape attempts, maybe you shouldnt fail at the first try. (Or maybe you are doing that on purpose?)

If you are "voluntarily" recruited

You can still escape (to unregister yourself from the list of mounts available for the outpost) if you are able to lose your captors for 5 minutes outside the range as the original shifter. Watch out if anyone spotted you coming out of your stall!

Pillagers are relentless in reclaiming their assets, you know, because they pillage.

The Range

64 blocks around the stables is marked as the range, and good drake mounts shouldn't step out of it

Escaping just got harder

  • Initial Confiscation when captured: Say goodbye to your items and belongings since thats unnecessary for a mount.

image They will be stored "safely" in the belongings chest in front of the outpost/mansion

  • Contraband Check: Pillagers may randomly check for unwanted items that could potentially be used to escape, such as: inhibitors, cleansing keys, and lava buckets.

The Mount Merchant's Shop

image Sensing the opportunity to make some money, the mount merchant has established his business near the stables. Need a mount? go find him!

He will open his shop at around 256 blocks near a stable. (He should probably spend more money on an advertisement tho)

Or use /locate structure ssc-extras:mount_merchant to find him.

image Look at his selection of merchandise and affordable prices.

And if you got no money but want some easier time? No problem. You can offer yourself to be the mount! (He will ask for your consent nicely tho! Unless you look like the one his missing in his pen…)

image He will give you some upgrades to do the job. Though he will stop at your stage 2 transformation as it is good enough for the job. (also to save on cost!)

image You can also interact with him from inside the pen if you try! And a pillager may appear to be interested in restocking their stable, and they are willing to pay the price.

Stable's "Rewarding" and Punishing Rituals

For those drakes who are obedient, there are rewarding rituals:

Complete 10 days without escaping from the stable:

Permanent Mount Ritual + Permanent Mount Transformation

Because your good service, the pillagers decide that you are their best mount so they are keeping you FOREVER.

If you are not in a rideable state, you will be after this ritual!

This ritual will transform you into a stage 2 drake if you are below and transform your soul into that of a drake. With the soul of a drake, you forget how to walk upright.

As you are permanently bound to the stable, you can no longer leave the range by yourself.

If you don't wanna end up like this, try to escape!

Because there are even more severe rituals for escaping!

Getting caught 6 times when running away from stable:

Full Feralization Ritual + Feralized Mind and Body Transformation

image The player's mind is getting feralized.

The pillagers decided that the way to deal with an escapist mount is to remove its idea to escape, or any mental capacity and capability to escape.

In this ritual, both your mind and body will be feralized completely with the power of Full Beastization Catalyst, you will be consuming a lot of this with a helping hand. Your body will be fully feral completed with a feral mind.

As a feral animal, you can no longer interact with blocks or use items like a human. You can still sleep on hay bales or eat your favorite treats!

Respawning as the original shifter will clear this effect. However, if you are a permanent mount that couldnt respawn as the original shifter… better get comfortable living as a feral drake mount!

When spotted trying to break stable 3 times:

Iron Drakeshoe Fitting Ritual

Naughty Drakes who are dealing too much property damage, are subjected to a drakeshoe fitting ritual, where you are put on your custom tailored drakeshoes.

When wearing them, the player will be forbidden from breaking, placing, and interacting with blocks. Also since they also blocks your thumbs, you now need to use your mouth to hold your items, which is not very good at using tools.

Pillagers softens the shoes by dipping them in lava, maybe you can escape with a similar method?

Villager's Encounter (WIP)

New Transformation - Runebound Guardian (WIP)

image Some strange collars and cuffs have transformed you into a giant gargoyle and you may only promote after offering villagers your protection.

image Once you are able to show them your loyalty, they will give you an upgrade! Almost invincible except, similar to all stones, you are weak to pickaxes.

Guardian golem is very slow but capable of flight (using energy). They operates on energy and will power off without it. You absorbs energy from magic attacks (like from witches) and is almost immune to projectile attacks. The stone plates give you massive damage reduction.

image

Even if your body breaks, you can still be installed into another golem body to continue your duty (yes, you are the core now, not your body).

image Villagers might be able to recover you if your body broke elsewhere, but in dimensions that doesnt have villagers (good luck being trapped in a cube forever or you can give up and stop thinking, becoming an ordinary cude that glows)

No trade offs! (Except never leaving the village and serve villagers for eternity!)

But if you are low on power (or just want to pretend to be a statue on the pedestal) image You will enter statue mode as an inanimate, lifeless statue. So spend your energy wisely! And avoid sunlight since it will accerlate your energy consumption! (or not if you just want to become a statue in the middle of nowhere)

Guardian Abilities

  • Primary: OVERDRIVE: Double time and double damage! (Also double energy cost)
  • Secondary: Villager sight (Toggleable Passive): Allows you to see nearby villagers, assess who's in danger, and identify enemies from the opposing faction.

New Structure

Guardian Pedestal

image

Wandering in the village, you see an unsuspecting, totally normal empty pedestal. You might be tempted to stand on that to pretend you are a gargoyle, but the metal cuffs and the collar will try make you one.

Maybe try not set foot on that thing as the shackles will auto repel your armor away (As proper gargoyles do not need clothes or armor).

Guardian Sentry

image In some villages, you might see a guardian statue standing on the pedestal. You better behave near them, any assualt or vandalism offenders would be sentenced to be repurposed! (You are not trying to be repurposed, are you?)

However, if theres no availability, you will be battling the guardian for now. (In the future, I do plan to further repurpose the perpetrators into drake golems to serve as beast of burden)

Villager's "Rewarding" and Punishing Rituals

For those who are servile guardians to the village, here's the rewarding ritual:

Protect the village for 10 nights (Ten Nights at Villagers):

Guardian's Awakening Ritual

image Being such a good protector, villagers have gathered the materials to upgrade you further!

Your soul will be extracted and stored into a magical cube to control the guardian body. And they will properly carve our your new body for you!

Maybe you will receive your designation number and speaking in all caps, but its very human to do that.

Villager's Golem Factory & Farm (WIP, no encounter yet, no TF yet)

(I intend this to be a factory that turns the player into a drake golem that works as a beast of burden that hauls stuff in a farm)

New Mechanics - Petrification

Gaining Petrification effect while having the previous level will advance it into next level:

  • Level I gives the target -95% speed
  • Level II freezes the target in place (still recoverable after the effect wears off)
  • Level III petrifies the target turning them into a stone statue permanently (all you can do is struggle!)
(no, seriously, struggle to breakfree, unless someone changed the breakfree chance to 0, then good luck being a statue!)

Petrification III entities can be broken like stone using pickaxe.

New Item

Potion of Petrification

image

image (Yes, Potion of Moondust is just the one you craft using Moondust matrix and awkward potion)

Petrification Potion Bucket

image A bucket full of fun liquid stone to play with, unlike lava, this liquid stone wont harm you! (Warning: May turn user into a statue for an indefinite period after prolonged contact. We are not responsible for any damage caused by Petrification Potion Bucket™.)

image A little fountain splash in the pen.

image The aftermath. How petrifying!

For your decoration needs:

Statue Package Crate

image Allows you to move those hefty statues around with ease! Just place planks in the diagonal and wools in the ordinal plus a chest in the middle!

image And you can put cute animal statues to decorate your garden!

???'s Encounter (No idea yet)

More Cursed Loot!

Want to be an animal without being one? Try our:

Quadruped Training Set

Found in loot chests, may give you a surprise welcome when you open them!

Digitigrade Mold

image When worn, will turn users limbs into digitigrade pawbs :3

and

Feral Neck Support

image When worn, locks your head in the feral position

When worn as a set: image Initial - 0%

image Sometime later - 25%

image More wearing - 50%

image Even more wearing - 75%

image 99% - you are almost a quadrupedal creature now!

image On completion, the training set will slip off as you are locked in all fours!

image Comes with free pawbs and paw pads!

Being a quadruped-in-training does come with perks!

image You can be the mount!

Also quadrupeds have reduced hunger usage, and why jump to reach 1 block high when you can simply place your front paws on the block to lift yourself up.

Recovery - If you miss being a biped

If you havent reach the end of the training, you may proceed.

  1. Find/Craft a Cleansing Key
  2. Use the Cleansing Key
  3. ???
  4. Profit

image

If you haven't reached the end, you can still stand up, with effort of course, but your new physiology will force you down to all fours when you move too much (A good tip for recovery is to stand still and try to stay upright, then your body can slowly readapt a biped posture)

Recovery - If you have already reached the end of training

Enjoy your new life from a new perspective! As there's no cure…

You can cure quadrupedal with Powerful Inhibitor if you really miss being on two legs.

New Mechanics (WIP)

QUAD Meter

image

As it fills, your posture will shift to a quadrupedal stance. When full, it is locked. Wearing the digitigrade molds will increase the QUAD meter, standing upright will decrease it.

INT Meter (WIP)

Currently I haven't really implemented anything yet.

Currently by default it reduces on instinct gain, and improves when you read a book or craft an item.

If you really want, you can use the full beastization catalyst to massively decrease it, or use the sentient catalyst to massively increase it.

image

At the regular brain capacity, everything is normal.

image

At sub-par level, you will have a hard time doing complex machinery and redstone crafting.

image

image

When your brain is simple, your life will be simple too, as complicate recipes and crafting stations are irrelevant to you. Metalworking is too hard now.

image

Brain is almost empty now, whats crafting? that doesnt sound like food :3 Glad the tiny brain still have "some" capacity to operate simple tools.

image

No different from an animal, as you only care about yummies now :3 (cant interact with most blocks now)

(Annnnd you can smooth your brain even further which would incur longer feral takeovers :3)

Transformative Items

Feralizing Collars

Accelerate your transformation with two wearable collars.

Feralizing Collar

image Crafted from leather surrounded by eight Untreated Moondust, this collar grants +1 instinct per second and doubles positive instinct gains. It can be removed freely.

Cursed Feralizing Collar

image Found in structure loot chests, this purple collar grants +2 instinct per second and quadruples positive instinct gains.

It can bind itself to cursed players when their necklace slot is empty, so watch out while looting if youre transformed.

Wearing one while uncursed (if you really want to) starts a random form curse, unless the collar has been infused with a specific one.

If you really really want to, you can also turn on a game rule that allows curse collars to auto equip for uncursed players!

A bound collar can be removed after reaching permanent form. Alternatively, use a Cleansing Key to release it.

Choose your curse

image Craft either collar with a form curse potion to infuse it. An infused collar starts that curse when worn by an uncursed player.

Cursed Rein and Saddle

Cursed Rein

image

Gives the rider control over the ridden creature. Inflicts the Earthen Drake Curse.

Cursed Saddle

image Allows the creature to be ridden. Inflicts the Earthen Drake Curse. Allows the player to pick up a pillager on their back if they are a drake (and the pillager will fight for them).

Cursed Taming Collar

Extra cursed for those who were being a bad drake. Will be equipped on a bad mount after getting caught escaping three times.

Disables block breaking, placement, interacting with fence gate and your leash. Actually just try to not get caught.

Dont give up! You can still try to escape! There's a small chance to free yourself from leash / open the fence gate if you spam use on them.

Blinding Reins

image Pretty much cursed reins with a blinker. The pillager will equip this to players who has been trying to escape, It is equipped along with the Taming Collar. It limits peripheral vision to keep the mount at the road.

Cursed Iron Drake Shoes

image As a punishment for drakes that's been committing vandalism, this Iron Drake shoe will lock the offending drake out of block interactions once and for all.

Full Beastization Catalyst

image A highly volatile compound that's used for rituals only, Maybe found in stable chests.

Totally Feralized!

This debuff will render player illiterate and unable to place blocks or use blocks or use items. They may still eat food or sleep on a hay bale.

Runebound Guardian Collar & Cuffs

image Part of the Guardian set.

Ways to Combat Transformation

Feral Effigy

image Cursed form may struggle with equipment. The Feral Effigy gives you another way to use it (Dragon Survival Style).

As bat permanent form:

image

Craft this crescent-moon pedestal from cobblestone and Untreated Moondust, then interact with it to infuse equipment that your current form cannot normally use.

image

Benefit from restricted armor without physically wearing it. Attack with an infused melee weapon or use your infused tools while your main hand is empty.

Cleansing Key

Use this key to unequip worn Cursed items, dropping them nearby. It has six uses and spends one per removed item.

Craft it with iron ingots and a Moondust Matrix:

image

Suppression Cuffs

image image When equipped, it stops instinct gains at the cost of durability. Keep an eye on its durability if you want to stay at your current form.

At full durability:

image

At low durability:

image

Sentient Catalyst

image

Can cure Full Feralization partially. You need four for a full cure:

  • 1 used: restores block placing and interaction (sorry but its animal brain is still struggling with tools)
  • 2 used: restores tool use (its playing with tools, what a smart animal (however animals with physical inability to use tools still cant, sorry it doesnt grow thumbs back))
  • 3 used: No more gibberish text and instinct take over (welcome back, sort of; you are still too comfortable staying all fours and making animal noises)
  • 4 used: Feralization is cured! (until you are re-feralized! but why would you do that?)

Found as a rare loot in outpost and woodland mansion loot. Also sold by traveling merchant
