Description

Stackforged: Your Smart Inventory Assistant Tired of spending minutes sorting chests after every mining trip? Wish you could just dump your items and get back to the adventure? Stackforged is the elegant, client-side solution to your inventory woes!

🔥 Features

Stackforged adds a simple, configurable button to your inventory screen that gives you powerful control over your items. It's designed to be smart, lightweight, and compatible with your favorite mods.

One-Click Stacking: With a single click, Stackforged will instantly scan for nearby chests and deposit any items from your inventory into existing stacks. No more manually hunting for that one chest with your cobblestone!

Powerful Force Stacking: Need to clear out your inventory fast? Shift+Click the button to perform a "Force Stack." This will first try to top off existing stacks and then deposit any remaining items into any available empty slot in nearby chests. It's the ultimate "dump" button.

Customizable UI: The button is your own! Alt+Click (or Option+Click on Mac) and drag the button anywhere on your screen to place it exactly where you want it. Stackforged will remember the position.

Highly Configurable: Use the in-game config menu to change the search radius for chests (from a small closet to a whole warehouse) and decide whether or not to include your hotbar in the stacking process.

Built for Compatibility: Stackforged is designed to work with almost any modded inventory, from Iron Chests to sophisticated storage systems. By using Forge's standard item handling capabilities, it can intelligently interact with any block that's designed to hold items.

🎮 How to Use

Open your Inventory: The Stackforged button will appear.

Click: Stack items into existing stacks in nearby chests.

Shift+Click: Stack items into existing stacks, then into any empty slots.

Alt+Click and Drag: Move the button to your desired location.

🚀 Future Plans

This is just the beginning for Stackforged! The next major feature planned is an inventory tagging system. You'll be able to assign custom tags (like "Ores," "Farming," or "Magic") to specific chests, allowing for even more precise and powerful organization with higher priority than normal stacking.

🤖 An Experiment in AI-Powered Modding

Stackforged is more than just a utility mod; it's a testament to the power of creative collaboration between human and machine. This entire mod—from the initial concept to the final, functional code—was developed in partnership with a large language model.

Every aspect of the project was guided and generated through a conversation:

The Code: All Java classes, from the main mod file to the client-side event handlers and the server-side sorting logic, were written by the AI based on feature requests.

The Build Scripts: The complex Gradle configuration files were generated and refined by the AI.

The Debugging: When bugs and crashes inevitably occurred, we worked through them together. By providing error logs and describing the problems, the AI was able to analyze the issues and produce the corrected code.

The Assets & Text: Even the prompts used to generate the mod's icon and banner, along with this very CurseForge description, were crafted by the AI.

This project demonstrates a new frontier in development, where AI acts as a tireless, knowledgeable pair programmer, turning ideas into reality at an incredible speed.

Permissions

You are free to use this mod in any modpack. I would appreciate a link back to this CurseForge page, but it is not required.
