Starter Wolf is a Vanilla+ companion mod that guarantees every player gets a loyal, auto-tamed wolf the very first time they log into a world. But this isn't just a regular vanilla dog—your new Starter Pet features a fully custom RPG leveling system, dynamic physical growth, and a controllable auto-hunting AI!

✨ Key Features

The Loyal Starter Pet

• Instant Companion: The moment you join a world for the first time, a tamed, named "Starter Pet" will spawn right by your side.

• Failsafe Respawn: Did your loyal companion meet a tragic end? Don't worry! If your Starter Pet dies, you will automatically be granted a new Level 1 wolf the next time you log into the server.

RPG Leveling & Growth

• Dynamic EXP System: Your wolf earns EXP every time it deals damage to a mob. If your wolf gets the final killing blow, it earns bonus EXP equal to the mob's maximum health!

• Stat Scaling: The wolf can reach a maximum of Level 20. Every time it levels up, it permanently gains +0.5 Max Health and +1.0 Attack Damage.

• Physical Growth: As your wolf levels up, it physically grows larger! A max-level wolf is nearly double the size of a standard vanilla wolf.

Visual Progression You can tell how strong a Starter Wolf is just by looking at it. As your pet levels up, its collar automatically changes color to reflect its power tier:

• Level 1+: Standard Red

• Level 5+: Emerald Green

• Level 10+: Gold Yellow

• Level 15+: Diamond Light Blue

• Level 20 (MAX): Epic Purple

Interactive Items

• The Stat Checker (Stick): Want to know exactly how much EXP your wolf needs to level up? Just right-click your wolf with a Stick to receive a private chat message detailing its exact Level, Health, and EXP.

• Berserk Mode (Bone): Right-click your wolf with a Bone to toggle Berserk Mode! When active, your wolf will emit angry storm-cloud particles and automatically hunt down any hostile mobs or animals within a 16-block radius. (Safety feature: Berserk wolves will automatically ignore Creepers, Players, and other pets to prevent accidental explosions and friendly fire!)

⚙️ Dependencies

This mod requires Pehkui (Forge 1.20.1) to handle the physical size scaling of the wolf. Please make sure Pehkui is installed in your mods folder alongside Starter Wolf, or the game will crash!

🎮 Multiplayer / Server Safe

Starter Wolf is fully compatible with multiplayer servers. Every individual player will receive their own personal Starter Pet upon joining the server for the first time!
