About

Description

Steel Co. is a vanilla-like mod that adds Steel in the game.

This mod adds a metal resource that sits between Iron and Diamond. Steel can be used to make tools and armor, but we are planning to add even more functions to the material, with the objective of replacing Iron by steel, just like in the real life!

Creation

First things first. We noticed a BIG gap between Iron and Diamond tier in quality and cost of obtention. The quality (cost of obtention + resistence) of the Iron was too outlier compared to the quality of Diamond. So we had the idea of making a steel mod, creating a new tier between Iron and Diamond.

Crafting and Utilization

To craft a Steel Ingot first you need the Blast Furnace to smelt the Carbonized Iron, a new item added by the mod that is made out of Iron and Charcoal (specifically Charcoal) and iron, put that item in the Blast Furnace to craft the Steel Ingot. About the tools and armors, just make the same process of the other materials (new craftings in Images).

Sorry for forgetting about this mod for this long, we set too big of a scope for the project and we couldn't keep up with it while having so little experience, but here we are again!

We need some help...

Some features are hard to code and the Forge documentation is very unclear, so if you think that can help us in some way (mainly with the planned features), contact us!
