About

Description

This mod aims to add steel to the game seamlessly. The features feel well balanced with vanilla Minecraft and the mod only focuses on adding features related to steel. The mod includes steel tools and armor as well as a steel block, steel ingot and pig iron. This mod does not aim to add any extra unnecessary features such as steel doors/trapdoors, buttons, plates, or block variants. This is perfect for a vanilla+ modpack that wants to implement steel to allow players to have tools/armor in between iron and diamond.  The tools and armor are crafted just like vanilla tools and armor. There is a bonus recipe allowing you to craft flint and steel with a steel ingot. In my personal opinion this mod adds steel to the game the most perfectly balanced way possible only using what is available in vanilla. You have to take extra time refining iron into steel, consuming more resources. You must also use 2 different work stations to get the end result which makes the process feel a bit more rewarding and not as redundant/annoying as blasting or smelting twice in a row but also not taking away immersion by just making a crafting table recipe for pig iron. The tools themselves are only just  better enough over iron to make the process and the end result be worth the effort without making them overpowered. Diamond and netherite will still of course be stronger than steel so the option of making steel to old you over until you find diamonds is there but this also means you will be able to mass produce gear that is stronger than iron and has better enchantability.

Currently Implemented steel gear:
-All Armor
-Sword
-Axe
-Pickaxe
-Shovel
-Hoe
-Shears
