About

Description

logo Stormward brings the magic of The Stormlight Archive to Minecraft. Fight Parshendi for gemhearts on the Shattered Plains, duel enemy Shardbearers to win shards of your own, craft powerful fabrials, or discover the fantastical flora and fauna of Roshar.

Biomes

  • Explore the legendary Shattered Plains, desolate plateaus of rock and crem. Here, you’ll find deadly Parshendi warbands storming plateaus to claim gemhearts from the chrysalises of greatshell beasts.
  • Traverse expansive fields of rockbuds, polyps, and other strange and lively plants. Farm lavis, a staple food of Roshar, or cut down Markel trees, a primary source of lumber.
  • Several new ores can be found underground. Mine veins of zircon, topaz, sapphires, rubies, and garnets, or discover rich smokestone geodes.

Highstorms

  • Roshar is subject to dangerous highstorms, torrential thunderstorms that destroy anything left in their path. Stormlight — a magical energy source used to fuel shardplate and fabrials — can be harvested during highstorms, but being caught in one is almost certain death.

Creatures

  • Roshar is home to several fantastical creatures. Spren, sentient manifestations of emotions and natural phenomena, can be found in all corners of the world. Whether it’s flamespren gathered around a campfire, windspren dancing in the sky, or logicspren investigating redstone contraptions, spren will appear near objects or players that interest them.
  • Parshendi, a warrior race that marches to phantom rhythms, can be found scattered across the Shattered Plains. While most Parshendi will only retaliate if offended, interrupting a warband on a plateau run will lead to armed conflict.

Items

  • Spears are the weapon of choice for those forbidden the sword. Spears grant the wielder greater reach, but must be used with two hands. In desperate situations, they can also be thrown to great effect.
  • Parshendi carapace can be refitted into a set of armor, but will anger any Parshendi nearby.
  • Legendary armor known as shardplate can be won from defeated Shardbearers. This miraculous armor protects the wearer from any injury, but can be shattered by excessive force. Once shattered, shardplate must be repaired with stormlight.
  • Shardblades are the complement to shardplate. While large and unwieldy, shardblades can cut through opponents as if they wore no armor at all. Only shardplate (and half-shard shields) can resist damage dealt by these legendary swords.
  • Fabrials — technology crafted using greatshell gemhearts — are made for several purposes. Some fabrials, such as grandbows and shardhammers, allow the wielder to duel Shardbearers. Others, such as conjoined blocks and inverted blocks, can be used as part of ingenious redstone contraptions. Soulcasters, the pinnacle of all fabrials, spend stormlight to generate near-infinite resources by transmuting one substance into another.
