Subaru Stairs

Climb any staircase in any dimension and the world shifts green — a rising tint, glowing particles, and looping ambient music kick in for as long as you're on the stairs. Head deep enough and you'll find a portal to an entirely new dimension: an endless, circular tower with a walkable spiral staircase stretching almost to the engine's height limit.

Stair climb effect

• World tint shifts green (true multiply-blend, not a flat overlay) while standing on any StairsBlock, in any dimension

The Tower dimension

• A circular tower generated at the engine's practical height ceiling for 1.20.1 (min_y=-2032, height=4064)
• A continuous, gapless spiral staircase built from smooth stone slabs
• Solid stone-brick outer wall, open central shaft, sand floor at the very base
• A stone-brick roof near the top, with the final stretch of stairs removed before it
• A little surprise waiting at the very top step — you'll have to climb all the way up to see it

Portals

• Build a rectangular stone-brick frame (any size from 1×1 up to 8×8, just like a Nether portal) and light it with flint and steel to open a way into the tower
• A green-recolored portal effect, modeled directly on the vanilla Nether portal
• Stepping back through the tower's return portal drops you exactly where you entered — dimension, position, and facing — offset one block clear of the portal so you don't get pulled straight back in
• A pre-lit return portal is already waiting at the base of the tower

Extras

• Instant respawn — no death screen
• A player death sound, randomly picked from two variants (50/50)
• A settings menu (pause-menu button + hotkey) for Music / Particles / Green Tint, saved to config/subaru_tower.json

How to enter the tower

Build a rectangular frame out of stone bricks and light the inside with flint and steel, exactly like a Nether portal. No commands or special items needed.
