About
Description
This is a very simple mod that only implements a few items so far, 3 scepters, 5 summoning tomes, and a lightning rod.
Zombies, Skeletons, Strays, Wither Skeletons, and Horses are what can be summoned at the moment, and each of these mobs have different tiers. (3 so far).
By holding a summoning tome in your left hand, and a scepter or staff in your right hand, you will be able to summon different mobs to fight for you. Let's use the Zombie as an example, holding the Zombie Summoning Tome in your left hand, and the Wooden Staff (most basic staff/scepter), you will summon a rather weak zombie, all it has is a stone axe, and regular stats, this zombie will not last in the world for very long. The summoning ritual also takes a toll on your material body, as each summon will inflict damage (which can be reduced with armor) and a negative status effect, for zombies it would be hunger. Moving up a tier with the staff, and you can summon a Berzerker Zombie. This zombie spawns in with lightweight armor, and two axes, it moves at almost twice the normal speed of a regular zombie (Cue Baby Zombie PTSD), and has a leaping ability similar to that of the Wolf. While the Berzerker is powerful, it's despawn time is very short. Lastly, if summoning a Zombie with the Obsidian Scepter (best tier so far), you will summon two Hoplite Zombies. These zombies move far slower than regular zombies, but have heavy armor, shields, and take reduced knockback. They are the perfect front-line warriors for you to hide behind while casting more magic, using bows, or just using them as a distraction. Since they move so slow and deal low damage, they also have an incredibly long despawn timer.
(Side note, the Lightning Rod is essentially only used to charge creepers, why? So you can obtain heads/skulls and craft the summoning tomes. Or if you have other mods that let you decapitate mobs that works too... The Lightning Rod will only work if placed during a thunderstorm).
That is pretty much the gist of this mod, I wanted to create a mod that involves magic and allows for different playstyles, I always enjoyed being a Necromancer in games like Skyrim so I thought I would start there, but summoning does not have to be the main focus of your playstyle, you can also use these summons to distract, or peel other mobs off of you (I highly recommend checking out the Stray ;) ). There are a few weird interactions and bugs I'm looking to fix, (hence why it's still in alpha), and I'm definitely open to feedback. This is the first ever mod I've created, and so please don't expect things to be perfect out of the gate, I would welcome feedback on balancing issues, be it with the mobs, the recipes, the timers, etc. Anyways, if you download I hope you enjoy!
