Summary

Thirst Mechanic

Thirst is added to make the game more challenging! Works seperately from hunger. When you lose thirst you start to slow down. If you have no thirst left you start to take damage.

Thirst bar

Hydration

You can drink any potion and you will get hydrated. Any potion that does not come from a brewing stand (normal water bottles) has a 50% chance of poisoning you. You can also drink milk, but there might be side effects...

Water Filtering

You can also filter normal water bottles using a campfire. This also can be used to remove effects from any potion and get an awkward potion in return.

How you lose thirst

Similary to the hunger bar, you can lose thirst by:

  • Sprinting
  • Swimming
  • Jumping
  • Sprint Jumping
  • Getting Hurt
  • Attacking

How you slow down

When you have below 50% thirst your movement speed and jump strength will be lowered. You get slowed down even more when below 35% and 20%, when below 20% you can't jump on a full block

Hydration

Every normal potion hydrates you by 10% or 2 bars (except for apple juice). Water bottles that have not been filtered by a brewing stand have a 50% chance of poisoning you for 5 seconds (5 damage), you will also get a message in chat.

Lactose Intolerance

This is pretty funny. According to google, 65% of the population is lactose intolerant, so it has been added. When you drink milk you will hydrated by 20% or 4 bars, but if you are lactose intolerant will get poisoned for 15 seconds (15 damage) and get a message in chat

Custom potions

  • Coffee is made from adding cocoa beans to awkward potions in a brewing stand and gives haste 2 and speed 3 for 3 minutes. You can add sugar to the coffee to increase the effects to 3 and 4, or you can add milk to increase the duration to 5 minutes
  • Apple juice is made from adding an apple to awkward potions in a brewing stand. It does not give any effects but it hydrates you by 20% or 4 bars
  • All new potions are stackable with up to 8 items per stack
