Description

Synsepalum dulcificum Daniell

A fun food mod built for Minecraft 1.21.1 (Fabric): Introducing the “Synsepalum dulcificum Daniell.” Just like its real-world counterpart, it alters your sense of taste—after eating it, eating food will actually make you hungrier!

✨ Features

  • New item “Synsepalum dulcificum Daniell”: Consuming it grants the “Taste Inversion” effect for 300 seconds.
  • New status effect “Taste Inversion”:
  • Reversed Hunger Effect: In the base game, hunger decreases; now, 1 hunger point is restored per second;
  • Saturation effect reversed: In the original version, saturation was restored; now, saturation is reduced;
  • Eating food makes you hungry: During Taste Reversal, eating any food will reduce the corresponding satiety and saturation levels instead of restoring them—think twice before tucking in!
  • How to Obtain: Right-click to harvest ripe sweet berry bushes; there is a chance (default 15%) to additionally obtain a Synsepalum dulcificum Daniell, exactly the same as harvesting sweet berries in the vanilla version.

⚙️ Configuration

When run for the first time, config/mystery_fruit.json is automatically generated:

{
  "dropChance": 0.15,
  "effectDurationSeconds": 300
}
  • dropChance: The probability (0–1) of obtaining a Synsepalum dulcificum Daniell when right-clicking a ripe Sweet Berry Bush.
  • effectDurationSeconds: The duration (in seconds) of the taste reversal effect.

Restart the game for changes to take effect.

🎮 Gameplay Tips

  1. Find a fully ripe Sweet Berry Bush (covered in red berries), right-click to harvest it, and you have a chance to obtain a Synsepalum dulcificum Daniell.
  2. Eat the Synsepalum dulcificum Daniell to gain the “Taste Reversal” effect—for the next 300 seconds:
  • Eating any food will reduce your Hunger and Satiety levels (be careful not to starve yourself to death!).
  • If you are also under the Hunger effect, your Hunger level will actually increase;
  • If you are also under the Satiety effect, your Satiety level will actually decrease.
