Description

SBW: Combined Arms

A bridge mod that allows NPCs from TACZ: Simple Enemy Mod (recommended 0.1.5) to interact and/or spawn with vehicles from Superb Warfare (required 0.8.9)

Commands & Guide

Basics, to start using this mod, make sure you have a TDT in your inventory (refer to the item guide below), you will need it to dispatch orders to your units.

For ground vehicles, they will respond directly to your SEM command menu. You can either select “Select All + Follow” to have the vehicle follow you or “Select All + Free Fire” to let the vehicle operate autonomously.

For helicopters, you may board the units from the SEM menu, and then once ready, press the TDT Takeoff/Refresh to order the nearest helicopters to take off. Use the “Follow Me” command to order it to follow you. Use the “Free Fire” order to enter combat mode; the helicopter will immediately engage the first eligible targets it finds. To make it land on a position, look at a block and press the Land button in your TDT. TIP: Provide a parachute in their Curios menu if you want them to bail out in safety from a helicopter.

For mortars, you may do the same procedure as ground vehicles. Select your units and assign them with the TDT Board key. Make sure to load your PMC unit's inventory with mortar shells. You may now craft the “Handheld Radio” item, see more in the “How to Use Items” section.

You may also encounter tanks during SEM events. Specifically “far_combat”, where the occurrence may be controlled through the mod's config or disabled completely, as well as the new events “mortar_shelling” “vehicle_derelict” and “convoy”. With update 0.0.9 has been added "naval_battle", "asymmetric_cpombat" as well as "large_combat", a larger variant of the default "far_combat".

How to use items:

  • Handheld Radio: To use a handheld radio, simply make sure there are manned PMC mortars with ammo in their inventory, around a determined radius of blocks. This allows mortars to target entities from a distance. To target simply click “Left Click” on a desired entity, to cancel targeting an entity press “Shift + Left Click”.
  • Tactical Data Terminal (TDT): Adds native custom orders similar to the SEM commander menu you may also access the GUI if you have the item in your inventory (Default Key: G). Formation Column: Different formations you may use, make sure you're looking in a direction. When you select an option your units will immediately try to fall in the opposite direction. Air Column: Self explainatory, handles everything related to air, you may update your altitude through the GUI and confirm by re-selecting the “Takeoff/Refresh” button. Ground Column: Everything related to ground vehicles. Escort allows them to follow another entity or vehicle. Board as a passenger will task them to enter a vehicle after you. Patrol tasks them to cover a distance radius, units with this order will rotate position periodically. Search & Destroy will have vehicles immediately scanning for targets within an area and aid allies in need. Lastly, Dismiss allows them to return to their normal behavior.

WARNING: The project is in its early stages. If you encounter bugs during your playthrough, PLEASE report them on my GitHub.

Compatibility

From Version 0.0.9 forward, the project has adapted with the functionalities of other projects.

description_40aa3888-46ae-4238-9135-df8aeddbd036.png

Firstly, Xaeros World Map mod is now available as a soft dependency, which allows you to command your units even from a broad distance between you and the battle field. It also comes with the brand new order to Cruise your vehicles in a loop by selecting an order of nodes for your vehicle.

Berezka SEM structures (US, PMC, RU structure mods) are also compatible and will spawn alongside the NPC units.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I customize which vehicles a faction can own? - Yes, you can find the option in the config. You can add one or multiple IDs, which the mod will randomly pick.
  2. My PMC units won't board the vehicle. Why? - Firstly, make sure you're doing it correctly. Press SEM's Commander Menu (Default: CTRL + C) and press the boarding key (Default: K). If it doesn't work, the keys may be conflicting; assign free ones from the menu.
  3. My game is laggy; why? - The config offers various knobs you can manage to gain extra performance; read cautiously the description of each option.
  4. I have a suggestion/would like to report an issue - Reach out on the issue tracker on Github!

SBW: Combined Arms

A bridge mod that allows NPCs from TACZ: Simple Enemy Mod (recommended 0.1.5) to interact and/or spawn with vehicles from Superb Warfare (required 0.8.9)

Commands & Guide

To begin I recommended to choose a flat space to spawn your PMC units and your chosen ground vehicle to decrease the chances of getting stuck in ravines or similar terrain obstacles. Once done, you may spawn your tank, make sure it is fully loaded and charged, select your PMC units (1 unit may be enough to make the vehicle function) from the SEM command menu (Default: CTRL + C), point at the vehicle and press the mount key (Default: K). If, for any reason you need to unmount your units, you may press CTRL + K.

Once your units are in the vehicle, they will respond directly to your SEM command menu. You can either Select All + Follow to have the vehicle follow you, or Select All + Free Fire to let the vehicle operate autonomously.

You may also encounter tanks during SEM events, specifically "far_combat", where the occourrence may be controlled through the mod's config or disabled completely. By default US Units spawn with the M1A2 Abrams, whilst RU Units spawn with the T-90A.
