Description
TALES FROM THE SEED
Notice: This mod does not contain many gameplay similarities to Minecraft, and completely changes the game
An asymmetrical horror game inside Minecraft. One player is the killer. Everyone else is trying to survive the night and escape.
This is not a mod that adds a few mobs to your world. It replaces the game with its own menu, its own rounds, its own generated maps, its own characters and its own online system. You do not build, mine or craft. You run, hide, help your team and try to get out.
HOW A ROUND WORKS
Everyone meets in the lobby and a countdown starts. You pick your character. A random map is generated and the round begins. Survivors stay alive until the exits open, then escape through a gate. The killer has to put everyone down before the time runs out. Empty seats are filled with bots, so you can play alone or with any number of friends.
MAPS
Plains: rolling fields, farms and ruins.
Quarry: terraces, spoil heaps and machinery.
Woods: dark forest, winding trails and a broken church.
The Deep: a huge cave with a crystal cavern, raised terraces, plank bridges and old mineshafts.
Floating Islands: islands in a daylight sky joined by bridges. Fall off and you take damage and get sent back to the start. When the killer is released a thunderstorm rolls in and the light turns grey.
SURVIVORS
Four survivors, and only one person can play each one per round.
Steve: a timed shield parry and a handful of dirt that blinds the killer.

Alex: a shove that throws him back, and a flare that turns his screen red.

Fighter: diamond armour that halves every hit, a sword swing that knocks him back, and a parry.

Healer: a double jump, and a long heal that mends everyone standing near.

KILLERS
Evil Steve: fast, with a lunge, a thrown pickaxe, and an ability that shows him where everyone is.

Long Steve: three and a quarter blocks tall, with huge reach, a stomp, a grab that drags survivors to him, and the ability to see over everything.

WHAT ELSE IS IN IT
Health, lives, being downed, crawling, and being picked up by your team. A last stand when one survivor is left, with more time, more health and more speed. Points, ranks and coins, with a shop for unlocking characters. Bots that call out the killer, guard each other, revive you and run as a group. Its own music, torches and lighting, and a How to Play guide on the title screen.
MULTIPLAYER
To host: install e4mc, also on CurseForge, which lets anyone join without touching router settings. Then choose Online, then Host Game, and pick how many players (2 to 5) and who can join: everyone, friends, or friends of friends.
To join: choose Online, then Find Games, then Join. You can also choose Friends inside Find Games to see which of your friends has a game up and jump straight into it.
In game: press N for the player list, where you can add friends, block people, open the shop or leave the game. Chat is built in and only reaches people in your game.
Everyone playing together needs the same version of the mod. Only the host needs e4mc.
FAIR PLAY
The server decides all health, damage, cooldowns and abilities, so a cheat client cannot heal itself, skip cooldowns or hit from across the map. Flying is blocked, speed and teleport cheats are detected and kicked, commands are off in online games, and chat is filtered.
REQUIREMENTS
Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge. e4mc is needed by whoever hosts. For the best look, Oculus and Embeddium with The Darkness shader.
