About

Description

From version 1.3.0 on, this mod depends on Formula Loader. Please note this when upgrading.

This mod was created because the author felt that the base armor in Tinkers' Construct 3 is severely underpowered—no offense to my beloved Melee Protection dad. Plate armor not only has lackluster stats, but its two-component design also significantly limits customizability, which is precisely one of the main reasons most players choose Tinkers' in the first place.

As such, this mod introduces armor with a more "Tinkers' style" feel, along with new armor attributes: Armor Strength, Damage Reduction, Damage Block, and Independent Resistance, allowing an armor's capabilities to be displayed across more dimensions. You'll no longer see a monotonous "2/7/5/2"—instead, you'll find a rich variety of attribute values, along with advanced armor featuring four components. Just like customizing your tools, you'll be able to refine your armor to what you consider absolute perfection.

Armor Types:

  • Explorers' Gears: An upgraded version of the Travelers' Gears. It offers decent defense while providing strong expandability/customization.

  • Standard Armor: Vanilla-style armor, featuring balanced stats.

  • Composite Armor: An upgraded version of the Plate Armor. The inclusion of universal armor components grants special attribute bonuses.

  • Forged Armor: Armor crafted by forging rather than riveting, also providing special attribute bonuses.

  • Heavy Knight Armor: Extremely powerful defense, but significantly reduces movement speed. Best suited Cavalry.

Traits Override:

Leather (Armor Lining only): Tanned → Tanned: When durability damage exceeds 1 point, reduce the durability damage by half (rounded down).

Wool (Armor Lining only): (None) → Cushion: 50% chance to reduce durability damage by 1 point.

Ancient Hide (Armor only): Reinforcement → Totem: +1 defense slot; nearby tamed creatures gain a buff.

Amethyst Bronze (Armor only): Crystal Blade →

  • Crystal Lattice (No level): Similar to the Overslime but not absorbing durability damage; provides damage reduction based on lattice integrity.
  • Crystallizing: Increases the crystallization cap and naturally restores crystallization value.
  • Crystal Solidity (No level): When lattice integrity is high, limits the maximum damage taken after armor absorption.

Knight Metal (Armor only): Sturdy Shield →

  • Plating (No level): Similar to the Overslime; absorbs durability damage and provides independent resistance based on plating integrity.
  • Hardening: Converts a certain percentage of durability into plating, continuously converting durability points into plating points.
  • Guarding (No level): Allows you share damage from your mounted or tamed creatures, this won't let your health lower than 10.Now it supports player allies.

Hepatizon : Momentum → Momentum: (Only changed display mode)
Recurrent Protection → Recurrence: Converts a percentage of damage into temporary damage reduction.

Manyullyn : Insatiable → Insatiability: (Only changed display mode)
Kinetic → Voracity: Converts a percentage of damage into "Voracity Intensity", which will boost your next melee attack.

Modifiers:

  • Melee Defense: Provides +1 melee damage reduction. The effect is diminished when stacked across multiple armor pieces.
  • Ranged Defense: Provides +1 ranged damage reduction. The effect is diminished when stacked across multiple armor pieces.
  • Explosion Defense: Provides +1.5 explosion damage reduction. The effect is diminished when stacked across multiple armor pieces.
  • Physical Defense (Ability): Provides +0.5 physical damage block.
