Existed since 1.17, Villager Names is a datapack that adds random names to Villagers!
There are over 30 million names as of 1.21+, so duplicates won't be an issue for a long while.

📜 Features:

• Randomized Villager Names:
  • As of 1.21+, there are over 30 million names to choose from!
  • Names are randomly assigned to Villagers that don't have one yet.
  • Family Names and Bloodlines:
    • All villagers now have a Family Name.
    • New babies are born with one of their parents' Family Names!
    • They can sometimes make their own family as they grow up, to add variety to the naming pool.
  • Name personalities:
    • Most Villagers you find will have a regular name.
    • Some Villagers want to be known by their Nicknames, which often looks quite funny.
    • Some just don't want to show you their names. Fair.
  • Customize how Villagers' names with Special Name Tags:
    • Some names starting with "/" offer special abilities.
    • They can give Villagers a new name, set a Nickname, or hide their Name entirely!
  • Works well with my other datapacks!
  • Works in Multiplayer!

🤔 It's not working, help!

• If you can't access in-game settings or debug commands, open to LAN and enable Allow Commands!
  • If you're in a Server, you'll need to /op yourself first!
  • Before 1.20.5, this option was called Allow Cheats.

📝 PS:

• Each version was designed and optimized for their respective Minecraft release, so you'll always get the best performance and features possible for the releases you're playing on.
  • I could make builds that supports multiple versions at once, but it also means adding extra stuff only to support game releases that it won't be run on. It just doesn't make sense to me.
  • Due to Modrinth's limitations, this version is not the best of what I've got.
